Jan Etal rounds up 2011's spirited Small Scale Build or Complete Campaign: Braille Battlefield in which the builds came fast and furious.

I would like to extend, once again, my thanks to Jan (and his able assistants) for administering a smooth campaign.

I would welcome another one of these. Lots of fun.

I'll second Jesper and Michael. It was a great campaign. Looking forward to another one soon.

Thanks for creating the feature, it's great to see all of the finished models together in one place.

Amazing fun! Thanks Jan and staff, for a wonderfully run and organized campaign. To all the participants that successfully completed the campaign and too those that still managed to post some part of a build but just were unable to finish I extend my thanks to you, for putting this small scale on the map as being just as serious a scale, for the modeler, as any of the larger scale builds.

Waiting in line for the next small scale campaign . . . hint, hint!

It was a pleasure to be part of this campaign Jan. I was looking through the builds once again in the feature here and I'm still drawing inspiration from them. I'm on board next time you want to run one of these

This was a great campaign, very well run and handled, Jan's hand was always on the wheel, and he never dropped the ball, though it must have taken up serious amounts of his spare time.

What else stood out for me was the level of participation by all entrants, frequent updates by the campaigners and the helpful and positive comments by most who were involved, and the overall spirit of camaraderie that prevailed.

I'm up for Braille Battlefield Mark II

cheers

It was an active campaign and I enjoyed contributing with my build. I also saw some really interesting models and got some very nice ideas.

Finally I like to commend Jan's contribution to this site in the way of reviews, campaign organization or model building. I know it takes time and effort and I beleive it is appreciated.
Good Job Jan, keep it this way.

WOW!!!!! When you (Jan) originally were talking about a feature I never expected it to be anything like this! It truly is GIGANTIC!! What a tribute to the campaign, the participants and to the untiring leadership. To all involved in creating this feature I'm sure I speak for all in saying thanks. It was super fun and I can't wait for a small scale sequel. PLEASE!!

Thanks,
AJ

Thanks Matthew for getting this up so quickly. I'd also like to thank you publicly for all you efforts and hours spent in helping to create this monster. ;-) I truly didn't expect it to go live so quickly.

To everyone that has commented I would like to offer my thanks to you for both participating in the campaign and for your notes. This campaign wouldn't have been the success it was without all the individual effort of those involved.

I must say that I am humbled by the response to this feature to this point. It almost makes the seven and a half months it took to get it up worthwhile.

As for the roof issue and the editor's comments on the last page of the feature, that's a part of history that I am more than happy to forget. However, the damage was not quite as extensive as the dramatic line in the feature suggests. Although my house was one the first in my area to sport a "PanzerRoof."

Thanks to all,
Jan

EDIT - As for a sequel campaign, we'll see! Should I be insane enough to consider another foray into campaign leadership, it probably would not occur until the late summer or early fall in the Northern Hemisphere (Aug.-Oct.).

January yes but there were also others in the queue that we had to wait for. As for knowing the photos, tell me about it! It will take quite some time before I can sleep without them invading my dreams. Then there are the five or six galleries (pushing 1000 images in various states of cropping and resizing) that I have used for sorting and such that need to be cleaned up. Then there are the backups on external drives...

Cheers,
Jan

Erhan, Thank you for commenting. I, and I am positive Matthew, greatly appreciate it. I do not know for sure but from what I have seen, the BB Campaign has got to be one of the biggest and most active. Just shows how great the Braille scale modellers can be!

Cheers,
Jan

Very proud to be a part of this. Congratulations to everyone! And also to Jan for running it smoothly! Enjoyed looking at everybody's work! This proves that if you can detail a model in braille the rest of the larger scale would be easy.

Val, thanks for the comments and kudos. The feature has been up for a little over a week and we've already achieved over 3000 views which all participants in the campaign should be proud. This also is an incentive to perhaps propose another small scale campaign. Should I (or anyone?) be insane enough to do so, I'll post something in the campaign forum but also in the Braille forum to advise all that it is there. PLEASE don't turn this thread into a campaign proposal as this isn't the place to discuss it. .

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks to all the fine modelers who shared their efforts with us --- especially (IMHO) Jagdflieger (page 2), NWBrit (page 3), and sabredog and Panzer Alexander (page 4). They demonstrated that the scale may bew small, but there's nothing undersized about the enjoyment to be had in 1/72nd modeling!

@Pops53 -Fred, thanks for leaving a comment about the campaign and the feature. WE, and I do mean everyone involved in the campaign, appreciate the acknowledgement. As you could see from the number of kits that were built, there was no lack of enthusiasm by the members. I'm sure that we'll have another similar campaign in the future and hope that you will be able to join us for that.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi everyone.

Something has just recently been brought to my attention and I thought that I'd share it with of those that participated in the BB Campaign. I was informed and have confirmed that the BB Feature has made the Top Ten List in the features area.

This is a significant accomplishment that all members of the campaign should be justifiably proud. Your participation, commitment and efforts in this campaign made all the difference. Three cheers to all!

Thanks,
Jan
