GunTruck: I was planning on making a heavy cousin for your LARS - a HEMTT MLRS carrying 10 300mm rockets. The American version of the Russian Smerch. But, alas, no time. IIRC, there's an "actual" LARS known as HIMARS (HIgh Mobility Artillery Rocket System. AFAIK, it hasn't been deployed yet or is slated to be this year or even has already been deployed in OIF - not sure which is which. It's essentially a wheeled version of the MLRS - just like your LARS - but carrying the same sized rockets in just one pallet.

One nice thing about this campaign is that despite our imaginations, it is still based more-or-less on reality - or that there are subjects out here in the real world that is comparable to what we're building. Such is GunTruck's LARS, Keenan's Sumbo, even Jaster's F150 ("technicals" come to mind).

Dave: Looking forward to seeing your "Jeep From Hell"! :-) Would be wonderful to see DUAL Recoilles Rifles! ( )

Hey Jacques! Where's your pix? You planning to give all of us a heart attack or what? #:-)

And why isn't Sabot on the campaign list? Sabot, I thought you'll enter your Sgt. York on Abrams build? :-)

Dave, check out this thread at the Tools & Supplies Forum for alternative sources of sheet styrene: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/14136&page=1

:-)

BTW campaign comrades, apparently "Thunderbolt" is the name of a light tank demonstrator made for the US Army hehehe carrying a 120mm gun on an XM8 chassis. Do I have to rename my tank again?!? #:-)

Howdy All!!

O.K.......I've officially jumped into this thing! Even though I've certainly never played this 'game' I can't resist the gravitational 'PULL' this Campaign is exerting on me. #:-)
I have been enjoying all of your entries enormously! I only hope I can come up with something that even remotely compares to some of your entries!!
Now, as to my entry, it will be a sort of 'homage' to my friend 'Gunnie'.
All I know is I made a portion of the financial commitment at the hobby store just an hour ago ($37.95 to be exact ) and I'll be making another tomorrow (about $25.). Just hope this Campaign doen't have me selling my coin collection or something! (Don't worry, I don't have a coin collection ).

Here's to all participant's. Ooooora!!!!!

Tread out.

Welcome Tread. That is exactly what we need. Guys selling off stuff to join this campaign because they can't live without it. I have a sewing machine and a bread machine that I am getting ready to sell if my wife doesn't find out about it...

Once again, welcome aboard.

This is going to be fun...

Okie Dokie!!!

Here's my next question......if my entry has enough firepower to annihilate all comer's, and clear the gaming board of all player's..........do I win a Cupie Doll??

Hheheheheh............you guys are DOOMED!!!!!!

Tread.

(hey, that's the first time I ever used that red faced 'thingie')

Just kiddin' fella's #:-)

Wait a minute.........since there IS a few 'heavy hitter's' out there coming to the show (meaning Tanks).....I wonder who makes a 1/35th scale Kornet launcher??

NIce to have you onboard Treadhead! Looking forward to what you're going to cook for this campaign. :-)

BTW, where is TriSaw (TriStar, I forgot) - the builder of those sci-fi hover tanks? He ought to enjoy this campaign. :-)

Don't despair about being the big hitter. I think my second entry into the campaign is going to be an Ohio class Boomer. The true definition of "Get ya some."

Cool! Would it by chance be modified to carry three turrets of triple 16-inch guns as well? #:-) I keep on forgetting that this campaign is also open for aircraft and ships.

Ok, I was going to do 3 or 4 kits for this build........but 2 will have to do. I'm in the process of buying a house. I need to get my A@@ in gear and finish at least the 2 BEFORE we move....

We've got a Uparmored T-55 based on the crappy Lindberg Kit. And a "experamental"
LAV-CC based on the Ertl kit.........Pics to follow in the next few days........

GIB - thanks a bunch for the Campaign Ribbon submission! I'm glad there's a cluster version - most everyone is building multiple entries!

Glad Tread is along for the adventure too! I'm hearing some talk about BOOMERS - hmmm, might have to step-up production...

A 1/35th scale Ohio class boomer would only be 16 feet long. I think that is doable. I think Trumpeter is going to release one next spring...

Howdy Keenan,

Sound's like a 'no-brainer' there partner, rumour has it you only really need one kidney to get along........just sell the other one on E-bay so you can actually pay for the new Trumpeter release!

Sound's easy to me!

Tread.

Besides that, 16 feet fits into the garage just dandy!

Oh yeah, 1/35 Ohio - I reckon it's basically a one-piece hull (well, the main part, minus the stern and the bow) which will be either a big PVC pipe of brass (whoa heavy!), then the four-piece styrene sail, the 20-piece stern, and the one-piece hull, with positionable Trident-D5 missiles and their silos as well as several pieces for the periscopes. Easy build I can imagine. #:-) #:-)

How many of you think you're going to actually finish more than one model for the 2003 T2K Campaign? Just trying to get an idea here...

I am going to make a real effort to get two done. You know how this stuff works but December 31st is a long way off and I should get some decent build time in around the holidays... (Humbug!)

Yeah me too - but - this time around I anticipate plenty of modeling time during the Holidays. I might be able to even get some ideas ready for the IPMS/USA Nationals next year.

I've been having fun rediscovering T2K and I'm not stopping after the 2003 Campaign ends - I've got too many ideas I'd like to do now that I've got going on it.

Me too, Gunnie. This is like the ultimate "rivet counters be damned" campaign. The burden of proof is on the rivet counters to tell me this could have happened. I updated my campfolio (tm) a couple of times. Still on the darned counterweights.

Shaun

PS, Where are the Nats next year?

Why don't you just "do" your own counterweights? Couldn't they have come from something else???

Add some more spice that that model's life!

"Rivet counters be damned" hehehe... if there'd be an IPMS competition here once again, I'll enter all of my bastardized models. #:-)

I'm hoping to finish 2 or three. Leo3 is shaping up pretty fast with the bustle now installed (but still needs some work) and the roof already raised. T-34/105 will be easy to finish - it's practically done last time I posted pix here at Armorama, all it needs is a counterweight, removing the bow MG, and adding ERA blocks. Thunderbolt is still a mess hehehehe and T-2001 I have yet to touch... while the Black Eagle still sits in the drawing board hehehehe

There has been two categories for these models at IPMS/USA Nationals since 1994. I placed First in the very first Hypothetical Category award introduced at the Omaha Nationals with a M1025 HMMWV modified with the Calvary Scout Motorcycle & Rack on the back. Most of the time "hypothetical" comes across as Luftwaffe 1946 to modelers...

This category is a natural for T2K modeling - in that the model subject matter gets more consideration than would in a Miscellaneous Category...

I think Phoenix should be blitzed with T2K models next year!

I'm working on a M2 that is to put it mildly heavyly modified.
I've added an M1 APU and TC periscope ring with .50 cal. I also plan to use Aphace weapons pylons on both sides, trade out the Bradley 25mm for a 30mm and mount the targeting ball. Still trying to figure out the commo scheme and a name. I'm thinking on ether M2X (HM) Addie Murphy or BATUAF ( Bad A** Track Ugly As F***

Still planning on completing 2 models...emphasis on the planning. My M2A2 will only be slightly tweaked as it is based in CONUS and it is early in the conflict in "my world". Combat is between "gangs" and what is left of "order".

Another "Survey" question--
Is anyone else hoping to put their finished build(s) into a diorama?
