Hi Murdo,

Thanks. I got an extra set of the Bronco Bofors Crew with the same thing in mind, they might provide a couple of sitting chaps for the caves and a couple of Stretcher Bearers or gun crew if I used the 18pdr in the scene.

Cheers

Hi folks,

Decided to add a few caves to the back of the hill rather than have a large empty area. Started work on a few of the Brocno figures to convert them, two fo who should be OK to popolate the area.

Alan: the trench is coming along nicely and the 18pndr looks awesome!!

Just out of curiosity, has your figure collection reached division strength yet?

Keep up the good work!

The Caves look great, and a wonderful idea as space filler. I'm thinking you must wish for more Great War Models..Your work is outstanding.
I need a AA crew, and the Bronco Bofors crew interests me, do you think they could be Americanized?

Hi David,

Many thanks. It would take a fair bit of work to turn them into WW2 Americians, but I dare say it could be done if you have the patience to file them down and rebuild the uniforms, to suit your needs, you're half way there with the bodies having the appropriate posture you want.

Thnaks again

Cheers

Right Al, you've convinced me.

Okay, never done this before but I'm going to have a bash at converting these chaps to WW1 Brits. It's really the figgies in shirtsleeves I'm after.

This could be interesting.

Hi Murdo,

That would be a very useful set, not too much to do for a basic conversion, I might well get these chaps working on a half built bunker, thanks for reminding me about them.

Have fun.

Hi Alan,

I'm following it and wait to see where all this is heading as for the final look.

Good to cover WW1

Hi Garth,

Thanks. Still building up the landscape. In many respects it would be much easier to buid a rolling landscape first and then cut your trench system into it!

Hopefully I'll get a bt more done over the coming days.

Hi Murdo,

The large sections are from Model Cellar and the small two from SB Scotia (SB Models). There are reviews up on most of the sections.

A bit more work on the base. The original 3 caves on the right have been altered to two. I need to do a lot more work here to make the shape more natural than man made. Mr Model show a 1/35 flying Pig Mortar which might work well in the large left hand sandbag area if I dug it in a bit. Enquiries are underway.

The 3 main walls of the dugout are underway and I've staretd to add a bit of paint to some of the structures. The land above the sandbag sections needs to be higher too so lots more basic ground work to do.

Very cool concept for a dio and it is coming along nicely. Will you be adding the a frames and duckboards to the bottom of the trenches?

The trenchwork and dugout is coming along very nicely. Those SB Scotia items really look the part.

Hi Karl,

Thanks, slow work. Yes, the SB Scotia items are nicely done and at a good price.

Added a frame to the dugout and did a little work around the sap. Options for the roof are thick wood beams or corrugated sheets made from tin foil.

Hi folks,

A bit more work on building up the ground, some beams added to the sap and I got around to thinking about what might go on top, possibly some damaged trees. I have some from SB Scotia but might just go and collect up some appropriate little from the woods.

I had thought about putting in a small ruined building of some sort as well.

Cheers

Al, those trees look great from what I've seen there were not many buildings in much of a state, so you might leave that out. I'd stick with the ruined trees.

Hi Paul,

Yes, tree stumps might well be the way to go.

I did a little more work on the left hand trench, lowered it down a bit and made it into a weapons pit for some kind of weapon as yet unknown .

Also added some paint and mud to get an idea of what it might look like overall, alwasy hard to tell when evrything is a bit bitty.

I can see where it's going now more clearly so I can think about individual bits and adding some detail.

Cheers

Al
