And to close this topic follows a few more photos of the diorama, now with a mess of mud on snowy ground.

Hey Rodrigo, very well done all around. Your reserch, composition of the story, building and painting shows alot of hard work. But the best part in my opinion is that it depicts a part of history that most wont model because of the subject. To this day there are people who refuse to belive that the holocost never happened. With dio's like this, we keep the horror and memmory alive so it is never forgotten. For they who forget, are doomed to repeat. Congradulations on this subject that has been handled with tack and heart. Thanks for the great build as you went along and I hope the next one you do comes out as well.

I very much agree with what Bob has said about this piece. I think this is an extremely important part of history and it has been handled and completed to the highest standard by Rodrgio. It tells the story of the discovery of the camp by the Russians very well and the details included, like the fencing, signs and particularly the snow are expertly finished. Really well done Rodrigo and best of luck in your next project.

Buddies,

Really a very touchy subject.

When I decided to make this theme, I made several researches on this subject and never seen anything about Auschwitz.

When I started building, there were several "discussions" about doing this in brazilian foruns.... that was offensive.

So I stopped and kept it for about 7 years. At the end of last year, I decided to come back with this project, but did some questions on this subject here in this forum and a lot of people encouraged me to do, but with the approach of liberation, which I also agreed.

And there you have it!

This is an excerpt of the war was very cruel and painful, but that unfortunately happened and in my opinion we have to show for many people that the Holocaust was the greatest horrors of World War II.

I hope you enjoy.

Thanks, Bob and Karl.

Hugs,
Rodrigo.

Hey Rodrigo. Your welcome, anytime. I have a very hard rule that I follow. #1, if you don't like what I have to say, go talk to someone else. #2, if you don't like my vign/dio and want to grip or complane about the subject, go look at something else. I know we can't please everyone, but my work is my opinion and my story. I will not hide the truth and wont sugar coat it. If you do, you cheat the next generation about history and they end up not beliving that it happened. I don't make history, I replicate it as it happened as best I can. Never let anyone dictate to you what you want to depict. If you do, you are no better than those who change history to suit themselves. I am still working on a serries for the holicost and would put up picks but me and the post pictures thing don't see eye to eye. Actualy, I am a dumby when it comes to computer stuff. My friend says I'm lucky that when I turn on a light switch the water doesn't come on . Anyway, keep up the good work and much luck to you and your next dio. bob d.

Quoted Text

Really terrific dio.....it's a shame you don't see all that work you did on the roof!

snow effects are tremendous, how it is on the bottom of the building and the gates, really well done.

You should take some photos with a background of the real camp, that way it would look real.....

Paul

Paul....Just to finish, I made one last picture for this topic, as you said.

Rodgrigo: Again, very well done. I agree with Oliver and think you should consider having it displayed in a museum. Perhaps in the National Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, USA, or if Brazil has a similar museum. It is a very powerful scene and so very well done in all aspects.

Happy Modeling and thank you for sharing. -zon

hello, Rodrigo - very well done. It is really touchy theme to do dioramas such as yours, but you passed the test. On this diorama you can smell fear of those kind of camps. It is also important for me becouse Nazis founded this camp on polish soil and lot of my countryfellowmen were murdered there. Maybe you can send a link of this work to a "Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum of a German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp" which is founded on this place? http://www.auschwitz.org.pl/

My cogratulations Rodrigo, you deserve it!!!
You made a fantastic dio, with lots of details very well reproduced, and a huge emotional weight, besides you have been inspired by one of the saddest parts of our world history.
My sincere congratulations for the dio and the medal!!!
Cheers!!!

Fantástico Rodrigo ! Parabéns.

Aqui no Brasil existem, infelizmente, muitos modelistas que só gostam do próprio trabalho e acreditam que os outros só produzem coisas ruins (provincianos eles são).

Sorry for this portuguese comment.

Rodrigo's work is amazing and deserves all good comments and thanks for represent this part of history.

Cheers ! Abraço !

Very well made Rodrigo.
You did a great job of capturing this moment in history. I could make a long post but it would only end up echoing what others have already stated.
Thank you for building this,

@Rodrigo_sartori – Rodrigo,

POWERFUL! Congratulations on a well deserved win. This masterpiece needs to be displayed at a museum where thousands of people can view it; least we forget it’s grim reality. Sometimes the truth is so unbelievably horrible that we refuse to accept that such things ever really happened!

Thank you for posting and sharing your work here,

Rodrigo, what can I add to what has been said before, it is an awesome job, man! Fantastic, you can feel the cold and sad, grim atmosphere.
Parabens with a capital "p"!

My friends, I am flattered by such praise. My thanks to everyone, really.

Fernando, thank you friend. It was a great pleasure to meet you at the 17th Open Plastic Model of Campinas (GPC).

Olivato Victor, Marco, Jerry Rutman, Claude Joachim (the tree this diorama was you who gave me this tip, thanks), Eddy Nevarez and Pablo. Thank you for the compliments. It just makes you realize that I'm on the right track and that I'll soon be at the level of many of you.

Thanks again.

PS: And Eddy totally agree with your comment.

"Sometimes the truth is so unbelievably horrible That We refuse to accept such things That ever really happened!"

Is most true.
