Thanks, Kevin. This is most likely a Late War variant of the 8, typical of German halftracks as the war dragged on and pesky things like small arms fire made riding/driving one more hazardous. I have seen photos from France 1940 of an Sd.Kfz.7/1 with armored cab, but these were apparently special Luftwaffe AA units.

In any case, this means all the major German halftracks are now in styrene. I hope Trumpy will bring out a plain "vanilla" version with the open cab.

(entered too fast ...) I'm building it right now and I'm pleasently surprised of the good fitting of parts. The booklet could be a little more clear, when it comes to substages of specific parts which are assembled to the chassis/hull. There are no MG34's concluded i this kit, but 2 nice moulded MG42's are ! Right now I try to find out what are the contents of the different stowage-boxes within and outside the vehicle ...

Here is my build log of this kit, if it helps.

These are cool beasts and I could only wish to getting around to building one some day as part of a late-war dio.
