Yes - actually the bulbs help out a lot...

I got rid of my standard yellow bulbs awhile ago seeking more light. I use two OTT Lights - which I love, but for general lighting in my room I use GE Reveal bulbs. Those in my Modeling Cabinet are 3-way bulbs 50, 100, and 150 watt selectable. I use those in swing-arm and lighting elsewhere. When all the lights are on - the light is white in color. The purpleness of the unlit bulb is pretty interesting...

I'm in the process of figuring out how to mount sockets into my Modeling Cabinet to use these bulbs without burning down the house. I think they get "purple hot" when used...

Well I guess I'll join this one too. I'm on hiatus as my 25 year old air compressor gave up the ghost and I'm waiting on the replacement from Great Models to come in. Got notifiication from UPS that it's due in on the 29th, so everthing will get messed up again real quick when I finish up the three projects I'm presently working on

This is how nasty my area was,without touching anything on the desk.The Leopold goes back into its box,because it is too large to leave out and unprotected.

But I hear rustlings of models trying to assimilate this large area. #:-) #:-)

Well, I'm done ! It didn't take me half the time I expected it would.

Jan, unfortunately I cleaned my are today and forgot to take a before picture... would i still be able to get that cool trashcan icon if i just post an after pic?? i'll get on my knees and beg!!

I like the "trash can" idea too - but I want mine to have Oscar the Grouch in it!

Count me in too! It did me good to see that most everyone's work area was an expression of chaos. I had somehow gotten an idea in my head that most modellers work areas were neat, tidy, organized, etc. NOW I know better!

Pic of mess to be taken in moments. Cleaning to be completed before weekend ends. Before and after pics will follow when I get the film (alas no digicam yet) developed, but to set the scene...

My work area is in the ex-dining room (we eat at the coffee table- and have for years). Computer takes about 25% of the table, model crap the rest. The floor is the home of my in use reference materials. Yes I DO have a VERY understanding wife!! After 27 years she is either used to me or just too fed up to fight it!

It will take a few of these for this project (as well as many modelling projects )

I may be a fanatic, but I put everything back in order after each modeling session. I really hate having to hunt for things, so I designate certain areas of the table for different items, such as a glue area, brush area, paint area. When I'm done with the glue, it goes back to the glue area. That way I can put my hands right on it the next time. And kind of like I do in the kitchen, I clean as I go--that way I have less to do later.
But please don't think my work area is spotless--when I have a project going, it can look like most of the photos posted in this thread!

Weird, but I starting cleaning my area before I even knew this thread was going on. Is Armorama "channeling" me to clean up? Spoooooooky!

I did manage to Vacum the floor.......as I got yelled at for tracking white styrene shavings all over the house........
