Paul, I'm doing a Strv 103-B, probably in a winter scheme. So we'll have at least two Swedish meatballs.

Besides sharing the same name and being a great keyboardist, what else was he great at?

composer, writer (Deep Purple best records...), keyboard & piano player,

To me he was a great man. His music helped me a lot during some difficult times.
I saw him at a Deep Purple concert in the 90's, it was a hell of a show.
I hope he's rocking with Gary Moore & Ronnie Dio !

RIP

Okay, yeah I know all about that (I have ALL the Deep Purple stuff up to "The Battle Rages On") I just thought there was something I didn't know about.

I read about it and he was a very sick person for a long time. He's in a better place now.

ROCK ON!!!

I have just been finding a few walk arounds etc in prep, but I have always liked it ever since my dad told me about them back in the 70's

Guys.... the Cold War MBT Campaign has a quite simple guideline
"Main Battle Tanks used by any country during these years", I'm quoting myself..

So the T-72 was used during the cold war... yes.
Georgian conflict.... no.
Jeff, there is no problem using that kit since it was used during the Cold War period, with Soviet markings or any country that used T-72's.

Hi John, like I said before I mainly stick to WW II stuff so would this qualify here

http://www.scalehobbyist.com/product.php?sn=/CHC00009124

I dont have it in the stash yet, it would have to be ordered so if it dont that no problem, I would just have to look some more

Not clear about all the sources but:
Combat History
1979-1989 Soviet War in Afghanistan (Russia)
1980–1988 Iran–Iraq War (Iraq) (Iran)
1982 Lebanon (Syria)
1983– Sri Lankan Civil War (India)
1986-1989 South African Border War (Cuba)
1988–1994 Nagorno-Karabakh War (Armenia and Azerbaijan)
1988–1993 Georgian Civil War
1991–1992 War in South Ossetia
1992–1993 War in Abkhazia
1990–1991 First Persian Gulf War (Iraq, Kuwait)
1990–2002 Sierra Leone Civil War (Executive Outcomes)
1991–2001 Yugoslav Wars (Yugoslavia)
1991 Ten-Day War (Yugoslavia)
1991–1995 Croatian War of Independence (Yugoslavia, Krajina Serbs, Croatia and Republika Srpska)
1998 Kosovo (Yugoslavia)
2001 2001 Macedonia conflict (Macedonia)
1994 Rwanda Civil War (Uganda)
1994–1996 First Chechen War (Russia, Chechnya (limited))
1999– Second Chechen War (Russia)
2001 Western Sahara War (Morocco)
2003 Invasion of Iraq (Iraq)
2008 War in South Ossetia (Russia and Georgia)
2011 2011 Libyan civil war (Gaddafi Government and Anti-Gaddafi forces)
2012 Syrian Uprising - Government forces using T-72 tanks

After 1991... not for this campaign.

Operators:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-72_operators_and_variants.

It's quite simple, don't use a variant & operator & conflict after 1991.

My plan is to paint my T-72 like this, or close to:

Things are looking up and construction is about to begin ...

... on the paint booth that is.

Neither! It's a Revell boxed kit.

I did the Zvezda version 5 or 6 yrs ago.

mmh I still have the pics... 2008

It's not the ERA version.

Okay does anyone have a magic wand around here?

I’m ready to start this campaign and December can not get here fast enough. I’ve already changed my mind like 3 times since the campaign proposal started, I’m sure a lot of you have too. Good thing is I have not bought anything yet until now. Just in the mail today Accurate Armour’s new Alvis Saladin, Mig Production’s burnt out car, and Palestinian figures. I have to say the Saladin is a really beautiful kit and light years ahead of some of their earlier kits. I’m going to focus on building something from the Lebanese civil war now.

Hey John,

Yes it was for the civil war campaign, just wasn't paying attention

I'm actually planning to build a M48A1 for this campaign, one from checkpoint charlie. I visited the museum in Berlin and the Fulda Gap back when I was stationed in Germany. Thought it might be cool to build it for my dad since he did 3 tours in Germany during the cold war.........lots of border patrols.

I'm really looking forward to this one as it could be a straight build out of the box for me.

The tracks are intriguing to say the least.

Let's see if I can say this correctly. The long runs are already assembled, for under the road wheels and there are smaller runs that are for above the road wheels with individual links for around the sprocket and idler.

I thought you said you once built this one John?

Anyway, the ERA or EDZ should be fun!

I did build the Zvezda kit, I was thinking that Revell might have different tracks.
I guess not.
