Jeff, the turret piece has 2 nasty plastic pins on the interior, right where the front cover is supposed to join (the one in the photo).

Oh gosh no... I'm still running around with my hair on fire puttin' out fires today! I just stopped by to check messages and emails and see how everyone is doing.

I might get everything accomplished by late tonight and by then it'll be too late for anything to really sink in.

I am in with a dirty shirt. Here is my Panther II. Have to try and track down a metal barrel non muzzle brake. So far no luck.

Lower hull update:

I am in the process of installing the roadwheels for my PantherII. The instructions say to install the kingpins onto of the small nibs, though my references show to install them below these nibs. How else would the raod wheel's attitude be able to move in relation to the tank and surface. Am I wrong? Secondly the rear idler kingpin has no locating pin. Am I to leave it loose so that when I install the idler and tracks I can adjust the slack in the tracks? Thanks for your assistance.

Guys, I want to open this up a little and allow one-off Prototypes as a Paper Panzer as well.

But it must be a one of a kind Prototype and not a small production run. This could open up some kit-bashing, even if it took a mass produced chassis and created a Prototype that never some production or a small run.


Hope this helps with some ideas and decisions.

I was hoping to get a start on my kit this past weekend but that didnt happen So its now looking like I won't get to it until this weekend but here is my start up shot anyway

A metal barrel would have been nice but this is an older Dragon kit

Sal, it's a E-50, but the turret sure looks like a Panther one..
I agree the metal gun would fit perfectly with that kit !

Another update, still working on the details & equipment on the hull. Still missing are the cables, engine screens and mud guards.

I added a PE cover for the cable connecting the front light, the part provided in the kit was a bit short, also missing are the clear parts for the vision ports.

I left one iron bar on purpose.

I think it's ready for some primer too, so I guess next will be working on the wheels & tracks.

All these E-50 pics got me motivated to get mine out and started. Fun little kit, nothing too difficult, some seams on the bottoms of the suspension units, but I'm not stressing too much on those.

I'm glad it helped.. it's a fun kit, no major issues.
The only thing I found is the cable conecting the front light is too short.

Let's see how that Zimm works out, those tracks don't have many fans, but I like them, easy to assemble, and some nice detail.
Better than the Italeri ones provided with the Tiger-Ferdinand..

I gave a flat coat to seal the decals & base coat, hope I can start with some filters this week.

I wanted to change a bit from the late 1945 Panzer colours, so I planned a Desert Yellow scheme for a 1947 DAK..

I will give some washes & filters have some differnt tones , let's see how it turns.
The decals are from a Tiger / pz35 t / King Tiger / Pz II and the stecils near some hatches & engine are from some Antonov 72 & Yak 28.
