Sal,
looks good, every time I end up with strep (elementary school teacher, so it's about once a year) I end up feeling so miserable that even though I HAVE to stay home I can't work up enough gumption to build/paint/decal anything.

Anybody know of a source for E-50 engine deck grills for the rectangular intakes?

Thanks for the reply, from what I can tell neither set has the rectangular grills in it. I really am not planning on going to town on the kit, but I would like an Eduard zoom-type set of just grills.

I'll keep looking.

From what little information I have been able to cobble together is that the exhaust grills were present but not the intakes. The louvres that come with the kit is what was. I have been wrong before. Do what you want. Thinking of getting an E-75 and mounting a 105 in it.

Hey guys. Just want to get some clarification here; the campaign page says "No partially built vehicles," but reading through the thread it looks like prototypes are allowed.
So I could enlist with a vehicle that was partially built, right?

Yes... I opened it up a bit.

Thanks for asking!

Dont let any other teachers tell you otherwise, snow days ROCK!
Admittedly it does mean an extra day in June, but for today it was worth it.
Turret done. (nearly) Have to add etch gap detector panels and one set of foliage loops.

OK. Just enlisted.
I plan on building Trumpeters Geschutzwagen Tiger. It has some big time punchout marks on it, but we'll try to get through it.

Top job on the panther so far Nito, the chipping and weathering looks fantastic. Not to little, not too much!

Looking forwards to seeing what you do with that K72 Anti-Hero. I need to start mine soon

Anthony C.;

Ah, yes, the E-10! Just a pretty cool little killer, and a pretty nice kit by Trumpy, too, IMO! I built one as my 3rd build once getting back into the hobby back in 2010 - I found it a nice, pretty smooth build and mostly no fit issues, etc. Except for those suspension units. I found them a bit poor-fitting and needing some major post-assembly cleaning and refining - but that's me, of course!

I used the link tracks - I remember being amazed that a modestly-priced kit would come with two sets of tracks! Choice is nice, and these were the first-ever link tracks I ever did, so... I got hooked on the links! Pretty nice set and they cleaned up easily and fit right together (of course with some cement) and came out looking pretty real. So, I would commend them to you!

Although the kit looks good OOTB, I also saw it as the opportunity to experiment with some scratch stuff... ended up doing a lot of mods to it as I went along - but as I got the thing pretty cheaply, I felt pretty free to experiment!

In fact, "too bad this campaign wasn't running in MAR '10!" Now I have to do something different! (and I'm still humming and hawing around in my stash for this one...)

I'm looking forward to seeing how you pull this together at the end - it's going to be good, I'm sure!

Mike - The Panther looks good. Nice clean build so far, keep it up.

John - I like your Panther too. You threw that thing together quick! I love that it's an Afrika Korps vehicle. And on the E-10 ... would an 152mm even fit on tha thing??

DazzaD - Yeah, I'm interested to see what I do with this kit too.

Jeff - I'll try to provided regular updates so you feel more like you're part of the build.

Anthony - Interested to see what kind of camo you put on that thing.

Bob - Really nice E-10! Love the colors, all the antennae, and the Thoma skirts!

Sal - Go good on that zimm. I'm interested to see how that thing looks after a little clean up and some paint.

So. This is what I've done over the weekend. Part of the lower hull, running gear, parts of the gun.

Some of the punchout marks on the gun frame. They haven't been cleaned up yet. But I wanted to make sure I showed some of the MANY marks that need to filled on this beast.

For the most part the fit has been pretty good. Some parts, however, not so great. This is the breech block. Will need a little bit o sanding to get it to look right.

And this is just a picture of just the lower hull so far.

That's where we stand so far.

Here it is , the E-50 with tracks/wheels/side-skirts on !!!

Still missing the IR sights on turret ( paint is drying.. ), I will also add some pigments (sand & light sand colours ) to the wheels & tracks.

I guess the next update will be the final one, this Trumpeter's E-50 DAK 1947 was a fun build ! Anyway back to the bench...
