Hi people!

Let's start. Kinetic's RG-31 OOB. Maybe a new gunner's shield, just to add a "touch".

I plan to start construction next weekend.

Cheers!

Marco

I’m making a slight change to my build and instead will be build a M998 with HaRD kit. I’m attempting to model a Polish version with armored gun ring using various parts from def, pro art and tamiya.

Here's some progress I've made so far.

This started 25 days ago and it's not a sticky with the rest of the Campaigns?

Jeff I notice the same thing with this campaign, it’s stuck way in the back and you have to search for it. Not sure what’s going on, but it’s not even posted with the other active campaigns.

Either way here is just a small update. Managed to finish up the chassis and moved onto the body. I’ve started to add the hard armor onto the sides. I’ve also dry fitted the doors and there is a slight gap between the doors and frame, no big deal.

I might also be over extending my self on this campaign , but I also will be building this along side the HMMWV. Forgot I had this in the attic and plan to do a check point dio.

With all due respect, the Campaigns Administrator WAS logged in today so I don't know what the problem is either. Kinda suppresses the thought of more Campaign ideas huh.

Wow, a F-350 in resin? Using it should be an excellent idea Chris! I'll be checking back in.

It's kinda annoying seeing as there's a ton of finished campaigns still stickied to the top

I'm sure he'll get to it eventually so give him a break please. It's not a job I'd like.

Lots of nice Humvee's in here so far, the RG31 will look cool and that pick up looks stunning. Nice to see some builds from the other side also

It's not a job and no break is needed. If you volunteer for something you must deliver.

Jeff the kit is not that bad at all, just a little bit pricy since I bought it from Hobby Easy in China. Unfortunately when I bought this kit, it did not come with any of the gear shown on the box art, but instead came with the parts to make the PMC gun truck.

I’ve started to work on the interior of the cab and made a slight mistake when removing the back seat from the pour stubs. No big deal, I will just throw some gear over it. Also I adjusted the height of the seat since it pretty much sit on the floor. I’ve also scratch built a radio rack to be mounted in between the two front seats. The mount was made from plastic strips, while the base mount, radio, speaker and control box is from pro art.

Hi all,
some nice builds going here, and some speedy ones too
@ Christopher: cool start there as Jeff said lovely radio

@ Alex : coming along nicely

@ Yufkey70: so what type of rocket fuel do you drink
looking forward to painting, and I hope it takes a little
longer.

@ Marco: nice choice there, I´ve haven´t done anything from Kinetic yet, but I´m toying with the idea of buying there M109.

Well here you have it, my progress to now:

I´m sticking with the kit tracks, they´re not as bad as I thought:

does anyone have any idea how this RB models barrel goes together?

That´s all for today, hope to get some more done tomorrow.

Don't, have a look at the reviews. If you want to try something from Kinetic, this is not the one. Have a look at the AFV M109.

Cheers Rob.

Please don't waste your money on the kinetic M109 I have this kit and have tried to build it twice already and about to throw it in the garbage. It has alot of fit issues and the details are not that great. Just save the money and put it towards getting the AFV Club kit instead.

Here’s my newest update. The only real let down of the lit is the molded shut doors, so I decided to open up one to show of the interior. I will have to make a new door jam and change up the door some. I’ve also finished building the armor plates for the back bed. I’ve built this so that I can paint everything as a separate unit from the rest of the model.

Hi people!

@ All: Lots of hummvees. I like!

@ Chris: Nice man! Fantastic subject.

@ Paul: I can't help you about the barrel. But I love soviet tanks, they are really beautiful. About Kinetic's kits, I can only talk about this RG-31. It is very good, easy and fast to build. But it has lots of sinking marks. Look at my progress pics below and you'll see.

Now I'm waiting for some paints for the exterior. Next week I will paint the interior (in gray) and take the model ready to exterior paint job.

All comments are welcome.

Cheers!

Hi again!

Can anyone help me?

I want to show this lid open. What keeps it open? And what could I put inside?

Thank you guys!

Marco I’m loving the RG-31. Looks like it’s better details and fits better than their first tow kits. I have both the M-ATV and 109 and don’t like either one for their crappy details and poor fit. I’ve been wanting to get the RG, but very hesitant due to my experience with the other kits.

I’ve bounce back to working on the hummer and made some small progress with it. One thing that is missing from the pro art conversion is the armored windscreen for the HARD kit. So I’ve made new panels out of plastic and will add the new windows once everything is painted. I’ve also made a spare tire mount on the back of the bed from plastic stock. Another item scratch built was the base mount for the EPLRS antenna also made from plastic. I’ve currently assembling my figures for the Polish MP’s and PMC personnel.

Marco this might help some with the hatch. It’s a MK5 instead of the MK3 that kinetic had made but still works. If you look at the first picture you will see that each hatch has these little black button on them, they line up with holes on the upper armor plate below the windows. Their some sort of latch that pills out from the hatch and attaches to these points to keep the lid open as you can see in the second picture.
