Hi John, it's going to be the british version. I have a nice
resin Lewis MG from Resicast, and a couple of other nasties from Academy and Tamiya. The only thing I'm missing is a crew, I think I'm about to go shopping .

So just 2 weeks left to get that completed Paul.

Everyone else all done? (I'm not!)

Don't forget to post a pic in the gallery too.

I am nearly finished with my two 1/35 SF figures. I think going this route was a good idea since I do not believe I would have finished my 200mm Special Forces figure in time.

A due update: Number One and Number Two ready. Though Officer's decals went better than before, there's some silvering and also they are a little off register. Number Three is nearly ready, so I go to "Full Speed Ahead" mode to finish on schedule!

Javier nice figures there . I must practice more with figure painting, mine usually look like some weirdo things from hell .

Here we go then, this week is going to be a concentrated week of painting. I started Friday with the primer Revell 09 enamel.
Then yesterday a mix of Humbrol 84 and 34. Today has been decals
and tarps. The tarps are Tam. XF49 , XF57 and the seat XF10. The guns are all Revell 09 and the housing for the breda is Humbrol 117. heres the pics:-

07.10.13 001

07.10.13 002

07.10.13 003

Tomorrow will be some more detail painting (straps and other bits) then I'll start the washes and oils.

After a good start things came to a standstill. Here's the progress now. I decided not to add rifle slings simply due to time however I may add them in the future.

I tried to imitate charcoal blackened faces using black modellers wash over a gloss base before sealing it with matt.

Just about done and Ill try and do some basic weathering before the deadline.

Hope everyone else finishes before the deadline. The builds all look great

James those figures look good , I'm sure you could make the straps in time

Here's my progress, some washes and oils. Next up a decent dusting, I'm not yet sure with what - pigments or airbrush:

10.10.13 001

10.10.13 002

Till tomorrow .....

The other pair. I opted not to apply markings to the infantryman, as I'm unsure about the accuracy of the decals (Combined Ops patch isn't handed, all pointed right-to.left...)

I opted to give my "tommy" a pistol and a bayonet as a souvenirs, as I was unable to put the rifle as per instructions.

Now working on the base, I'll try to reproduce "somewhere on the bocage..."

BTW, Nice LRDG mount, Paul, I'll try last issue from Dragon in Braille ... (sometime in the future!)

James, we are guarding the flanks of the Invasion, Isn't? My slings are from Tamiya masking tape, and it works!

Was really looking towards this campaign but somewhere down the road I will be able to join in the fun again. bob d.

I'm finished. Not the greatest of paint jobs or photography in 1/35 scale, but I'm calling these complete for the campaign and I had fun. Thanks for hosting the campaign!

DML 1/35 kitbashed SEAL is aviator uniform...head and vest pouches are Verlinden, HK416 is Live-Resin, backpack is Legends, legs and arms are DML, and torso is Airborne Miniatures.

Think-180's 1/35 "Special Forces" figure. The only change is that the M4 gun is Live-Resin

More images in my Gallery.

Javier - Good work on the figures. Shame there isn't any archer commando patches as I struggled getting those ones to stick when I made the same set.

Paul - Really like the vehicle. I'm hoping to build something similar some day.

Well I felt guilty and succumbed to peer pressure and smashed out some slings. I must admit it does complete the figures. Thanks for the advice about the tape, I had previously made the slings out of aluminium foil (No idea where to get lead sheet) which frequently tore and I found to be a big pain. Ill be using tape from now on as it was heaps easier to use.

Here are the final figures with some dirt/dust applied to their legs. (Apologies for the photographs)

This is the diorama which the figures will eventually be attached too. I am currently building a Staghound for the Commonwealth Thunder campaign which will be placed on the finished diorama.

Well with a couple hours left the Special Forces campaign is finally finished for me. I'll be looking forward to finally finishing the Commonwealth Thunder campaign and the entire diorama later in the year!

Thanks everyone

Well done every one on completing and thanks for particapating, althought there is still officially 35 hours left but I think that's everyone over the line. Just the photos to do for me.

It has been both interesting and educational to step in to lead this campaign but no general has had better troops so thank you all. I hope you have also enjoyed the experience. I'll sort out the ribbons in a few days
