Well Well Well
After more than 3 year, finally the LMTV/FMTV familly is starting to grow again.
Thanks to Trumpeter to send me again those kits for review purpose.

I had the chance to review and build the M1078.
Same here, a review will be publish soon.

I didnot resist starting the build right away. It will be OOB for clarity. I will make a better detailed one after

Step 1: Chassis no think special here, no engine

Enjoy and comments welcome

Cheers

Nice so far. Mine is in the mail. Too bad they didn't correct any of the issues from the M1078 kit (spare wheel w/o bolts for the two-piece wheel, molded closed doors w/o interior details, etc.). I guess Pro Art will be getting another order soon.

Step 2 and 3

There is an error on the location of the exhaust pipe onto the chassis.

Enjoy

Pascal
the last pics show the right position.
On the instruction, it is show to glue on the forward half circle hole, it should be on the rear one.

Dear All
There is no walk around on the M1083 on prime portal.
I may find more flaw but I need ref pics.
Can you tell me where I can find a good walkaround

Thanks in advance

So chassis is done

Next step paint booth

enjoy

As you can see on picture #11, there are 2 big plugs for gluing the support for the mudflaps for the M1078. I am strongly doubting that these pieces are present on the vehicle.

Moreover, you can notice two armor plates, one on the fuel tank and one on the airtank. Ralph Zwillig post on his FB account picture of M1083 without this at least on the fuel tank.
Is this a common feature from the M1083.

I dont find good ref pics of those details

Hi Seb. Looking good so far! I was guessing you had already seen these photos of the up armored version here? http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/27544?

Keep up the great progress and thanks for sharing. Following this one closely.

Some very nice work Seb. Where did you find the M1083? I have done a couple of searches, including Ebay and have come up empty handed.

3 on eBay right now.

M1083

Sprue Brothers has it too.

It's been out in England for about a month now. Mine is on its way and should be here any day now. Can't wait to get it.

Looks great Seb...will you be doing a three tone NATO or Sand color. As to the kit I'v had mine now two weeks, bought it from Section 8 Hobbies. I will say that this place will get your needs fast! They do phone orders 716-824-1049.

Thanks Guys for your comments
The kit is available here since a month. Blast model have it

It will be a 3 ton NATO camo.
@Frenchy thanks for the link

It seems that the flat bed is not NATO green as show by Trumpeter but it is camo. Is this correct???
And regarding the armor plates on air tank and fuel tank, it seems that it is pure imagination

Cheers

So good news bad news
Good new the up armored is not a dream
Bad new if you build the non armored version you don't need to glue those plate.

So tonight surgery to remove them

Thanks to all

Good news. I saw the plate and wondered if it was part of the "hopefully" forthcoming armored cab version. Can't wait for the armored one too.

Gino
Just to be exact, these plates are CPK features, and that doesnot mean Trumpeter will release soon the armored version for both M1078 and M1083.

They allready promote them at Nuremberg Faire in 2010(If i recall correctly).
But since they took more than 3 years between the M1078 and the M1083 who knows.

If sales of the M1083 are good, i am sure they will release them.

And don't forget the MRTV

Also, I just noticed the armored panel on the driver's side over the battery box and air tanks. It shouldn't be there on the unarmored version either.
