Can I sign up? I'm fairly new at modelling and this would be my first campaign. So far I've only done 1/76 scale and I happen to have an Airfix Sd.Kfz 222 and Kubelwagen in my already substantial stash. I was thinking of making a small vignette.

Yeah why not Kevin. Perfect choice here's the link to the campaign page just enlist there and start building from the 1st of May.

Well campaign starts next week and I still haven't made up my mind yet. I have in my stash

Commander's T7/M1 scout car
Commander's M2 combat car
or
Accurate Armour's M114

I like to build the M114, but not fond of the resin track length in the kit

I know exactly what you mean
AFV Scimitar with Castoff conversion
Revell SpPz Luchs
Bronco Humber
Tamiya Bren Carrier
Italeri SdKfz 234/1

I rec(k)on, sorry for the pun, I´ll do the Scimitar. Should be a nice build

They're all great kits but I'd love to see you build the T7/M1 scout car

I'd forgotten about this one. I thought it was starting June 1st. I'm still in with a 1/35 Trumpeter M1127 Stryker. This will be my first Stryker kit. Straight OOB.

I thought you were supposed to be leading this campaign Pat! Are you going to be one of those REMFs leading from the rear?

Alex, you'll like the 1127....only 9 other versions to go after that for a full Stryker collection

Jon, I presume thats the HB WMIK? Another very nice kit!

I was going to do a HB Landrover RSOV but need that for the Special Forces campaign starting in 2 weeks.
So, for this I'm really going outside my comfort zone with 2 "firsts"...a first WWII subject in my 1st dio

I have the diorama base from Great North Roads, not started yet as Pat can vouch, which I got from Salisbury Model Centre on a recent trip:

Now from you experts I need recommendations for a suitable WWII German reconnaissance vehicle that would look right on this base.

Here is my project, I’ve decided to go with the Commander’s T7/M1 scout car. It’s not a bad kit, but there are a few parts I will either scratch build or barrow from the HB M3a1 scout car. Two real let downs of the kit are the engine compartment and wheels. The engine hood is cast as a solid part and none of the vents are open on it. Also the wheels are misshaped some and have the wrong tread pattern for this series of vehicles.

Hi all,
This campaign sounds like fun, so count me in. I'll be building Tamiya's M8 Greyhound. It will carry the markings of the Primeira Esquadrão de Reconhecimento, Força Expedicionaria Brasileira (First Recon Squadron, Brazilian Expeditionary Force) with the U. S. 5th Army in Italy in 1945.
Cheers,

Dick

Sean, the first suggestion that came to my mind is some sort of armored car, like HB sdkfz 222 or 223. Another suggestion would be the sdkfz 250 with the 2cm turret mount. Tamiya has an old kit of it and you may not want to waste the base on it. There may be newer versions. Another is a BMW R75 platoon...maybe 2-3 bikes...parked on that base waiting to move out, taking a break, etc. Maybe mix a bike with an armored car or two.

Hi Sean, as Alex said the 222, 223,or 250 of some sort
or even the SdKfz 123 Panzerspaehwagen 2 Luchs .

Christopher: cool choice, I still haven´t made my mind up.

Richard: sounds interesting.

Cam: watch out for the tires, don´t paint them with enamels or they´ll melt. There´s a fit issue with opening devices for the radiator covers, I had to trim mine to show them open. If you want a good looking Lewis MG then go to resicast. Or PM your address, I happen to have one spare.

Gary: I´m thinking about that one too, but there´s a hell of lot of small parts and my fingers are getting so big... .
I think I´ll start now and maybe we´ll finish at the same time

Sal: and you said to me at the start of the year that I am a light weight with 19 campaigns! Ha, who´s weakening now?
You´ll master it dude you always do, it´s just a question of sleep or build .
