I personally know the creator of masterpieces.
Great, accurate, result of many years of the tower, and at some point he also served these tanks, I learned, you know.
I recommend the SBS accurate, precise casting coupled with excellent form master! This is a perfectly shaped T-72 tower!

Nice review Roman. SBS deserves some publicity. I have the turret and it's a great set. Fingers crossed for more turrets from them in the future.

Cheers,
/E

Hello!
I think SBS one is really good. But it is suitable for later T-72M.
For early T-72M

must be used Modelpoint turret

I recommend it with SP Designs T-72 nose w/o add on armor.

The Model Point turret is OK but when I examined it some time ago I was not totaly happy with shape and some details like the range finder. Personally my Ural turret T-72 is on hold until a better turret appears. Hopfully SBS will deliver.

Taras, SBS model turret is for Czech made tanks. Are you talking about 72M made in Soviet Union?

All turrets were Soviet.
But T-72 last series turret (with laser rangefinder) was produced under license by Czechoslovakia and Poland.

The coincidence rangefinder was on turrets made in USSR, on Czechoslovak turrets it was absent.

The turret from the review is Czechoslovak made. I will correct that in the description.

Taras, I got mail from Pánczél Mátyás, he did the master model.

In 1978 Warsaw pact countries got 31 T-72 from Soviet union with optical rangefinder. Czechoslovaks decided to build turrets on their own and this is the turret from the review. Czechoslovak-made turrets never had optical rangefinders and they have laser rangefinder from the beginning, that is why it is T-72M early.

Nomenclature of T-72 is different in USSR - T-72 (1971), T-72 Ural (1973), and the first LASER rangefinder is T-72A.

The Soviet-made T-72 turret with optical rangefinder is currently under development and will be available in near future from SBS model too.

Hope that helps
