I've made some progress.

Things are coming together. I wanted to make a weapons cache...primarily rockets for the launcher. To simulate a stack of rocket crates I took some scrap sections of styrene and glued them together. All I nneded was a general shape as I was covering the "crates" with a glue and tissue paper tarp. The nuts are weight to get the crates to hug the ground while the glue sets.

I painted the tarp blue as that is a common civilian tarp color. I want it to be seen that these are irregular troops. I figured they'd use whatever tarps were available. The water bottles, RPG, drum, and jerry can are all pretty standard fare in an urban setting in the Middle East. I placed the launcher with the trailing arms in the travel position but with the support arms down in the firing position and the trail arms pieces off. I wanted it in a state of half-ready to fire and to reflect improper use by irregular crew members. The door was scratched from styrene and hung on hinges made from PE fret.

For the "ready" rocket rounds, I sort had them laying around sloppily. It even looks like a few might have rolled off the crates and onto the ground.

And here it is with the figures placed.

And that's it...I'm calling her done. Photos should be in the gallery in a few minutes.

Nice project Alex, love the figures !!!!

And the M-ATVS have been primed and I managed to get the basic assembly done on my Abrams. I'm changing it from a M1A2 to a Marine M1A1 and started by removing the loaders thermal site and dremelling out track block so I could remove the rear sprocket guard. The other main change I have to do is mod or scratch a new TCs cupola and mg mount. The other details are minor being aerials, ecm stuff, lift rings etc etc

M-ATVs

Gasoline 1/48th Abrams

Thanks John for the campaign and the ribbon.

I'm surprised turnout was low on this one. To be honest, I figured this one would be stacked with Middle Eastern subjects.
