Great Truck choices so far !

But I don't know if you read the Rules and Regs ..

"Must be an unstarted kit and must first show it along with the boxart and all other parts to be used. MUST show progress pictures too! This is essential!"

Just show what is done far, if everyone agrees just join in, no problem. If the progress is too far ahead and it doesn't fit this Campaign you can pick the Unfinished Business Campaign just after the Summer...

Okay... so no 'progress pictures'? So then let's keep this as intended as we are all starting with new kits and any "started" kits will fit into John's "Unfinished Business" Campaign.

Sounds good to me!

Ok so I had planned on doing the scud, haven't sourced the kit yet but still looking, missed two on eBay so far but its the joys of working nights and sleeping in the day! In the mean time I've been building my stash and in it I now have a M977 and a KrAZ-214B, so I now can't decide what to do!!! Lol I have to ask, for my KrAZ-214B I have planned on having a D30 gun towed behind and I have started this already, would I still be able to add the gun to the truck? As the build is for a truck and that is unstarted. To be honest im hoping to get the scud still but we will have to wait and see.

Build the M977 and I'll build the MAZ-543 with the SCUD Launcher I have as I don't think the budget will allow me to get that wrecker now.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this will fit, so I describe what I am planning and you can decide if it fits into this campaign...

I plan to build a new Zombie Hunter Truck for my diorama (in 1:25 scale), so I might take part in this campaign and show the build here. As it will be a pure fictional vehicle with some scratchbuilding, I better ask...

This is the old car (I messed up the weathering and - from my point of view - ruined the otherwise satisfactory conversion...

The new car will be most probably be based on the Revell Alley Rat from their Black Top Warrior Series (big, bad and ugly )

What do you think?

Cheers

Jeff

Sounds like a plan, the scud is a kit I want at some point so I can wait, also I ended up starting my KrAZ-214B so im left with the M977 anyways. not a problem jeff looking forward to starting this.

I have the ICM BM-13 Katyusha. I used the rocket launchers part for another project. The Studebaker US6 part of the kit is unbuilt. Would this be allowed? If so, I'll start brainstorming some ideas to make something of it. I was going to make a dump truck from it. But I was thinking maybe even a crane vehicle of some sort. Military or maybe postwar homemade vehicle.

Hi Jeff,
I picked this up the other day:-

Unbenannt

As my first choice is not really a truck (the BARC), and it's also not available , I guess I need something else. So does this count as an extreme truck ?

If thats a negative, I could do this instead:-

DSCN0268

DSCN0265

For this I will also use an old Italeri kit and the Dragon M55

Guys... if it has four tires & wheels (but more is better, right?) and is labeled a "TRUCK", you're in! If it served a purpose it would be better but not a necessity. Just as long as the stripped down truck doesn't distract or rob the function of the vehicle or from building the kit. So it could be missing a weapons system, a wreckers boom, etc.

Heck, a plain old worn out truck or even a domestic PU Truck/4WD will do too! So the Katyusha minus the weapons system and the Anti Tank Dodge (what a cool name and kit) will work just fine. Just have some fun with it guys, that's all!

Okay Jeff. The use of the word "extreme" threw me a bit. I always ask just to be safe...plus it gives the thread a bump.

I'll probably go with the Studebaker then. I've got an incomplete Italeri M-32 Recovery Sherman. I picked it up at a swap back in the 90s. The guy that had it had snagged the Sherman hull and interior to make a dozer version. Most of the crane and equipment is there and still on the sprues. I was going to use it on a M113 for that campaign but I'm still debating on that. I haven't even picked up a Gavin for that one yet. Anyway, I'll build the truck and see where it goes from there.

Well it would have been rather boring had I just titled it TRUCK Campaign... right?

So EXTREME gives it some character and an opportunity to build something special other than just a truck. I guess people read too much into things.

No problem Jeff. I figured that if worse came to worst, I'd slap a set of Truck Nuts on the hitch and a set of Yosemite Sam mud flaps on it and it'd be good. But in all seriousness, no issues with my ICM US6?

Not sure if its extreme enough, it sure isn't military...

This one has been sitting on the shelf for a few years. This is the perfect time to bring it out and build it...

Ought to be able to do a bit of weathering before it goes over the top...

Based on Jeff's very first post in this thread "to be fair, commercial and private trucks to be included too but primarily targeting Military Trucks." it seems to qualify

Hi Paul,
I built something like it a couple of years ago. I used a tamiya chassis and cab, heller cargo bed and the drsagon M55.

Hi Rob, that is my second choice. Not sure about the flatbed
from the Italeri kit, I'll probably just scratch it instead.

I REALLY like the work on that "Fireball" quad .50 gun truck! Also like the idea of dropping the back cloth on the soft top, perfectly ligit!

Cool

Hey brotha Matt! It's more truck-like than a car so it would work.

Guys... please don't be thrown by the "EXTREME" part of the title. It was meant for us to lean towards more creativity than just an ordinary F-150 or S-10 build.

Take it as far as you want guys! But it must be realistic... no space rocketed trucks!
