That looks to be the Med-Eng EOD 9 bomb suit....made in Canada by the way and saving lives around the world!

The helmet remote control module pad on the left arm is for controlling the helmet ventilation speed, helmet speaker volume, heated face shield, and hands free lighting. It's not for controlling robots.

I once saw a program with a bomb disposal man being asked what he thought of the (then) new Kevlar body armour suits. "It lets them bury you in one piece" was his reply!!
