Pascal's D9s in IDF (Meng 1/35)

ince some time , I 'am working on the brand new 1/35 D9 kit from Meng.
Kit is really fantastic, and I decide to build 2 dozers, first come normal, the second comes with bar armour)
Here is my line of D9 :
Left resin D9 from Vajra in US Army use and right the 2 Meng.
Nothing to say about the construction. All thing goes very well. I have add the antislip texture on roof and engine hood :
And I'am now painting the monsters. Here the underside before applying the sand gray color
Here test from positionning the drive train and sprocket :

very nice chipping. Did you use hairspray technique? If not give us a hint at your proceedings.

THX; I use AK Interactiv Worn effect. Same use as hairspray, but surely easyer

From these excellent models I learn that apparently for US Army use Cat takes standard D9' s fom the line and do over spray them.
Did not know that.

Hi Pascal,why did you add plasticard strips around the roof of the D9?!or is it a camera effect?!Is there something that need to be correct about the dimensions?!

I dont think this. Due what I know, the twelve US D9 were baught directly in Israel (who build the armour cab). One (and surely the other) named Natasha who saw action with Task Force Nasty (507th eng bat) in july 2005 were deployed in Tall afar and have the IDF registration plates overapainted in US sand. As the adjustement of the different parts is not easy finally not perfect, I add this strip to have a regurlar form.

Hi Kylie, the Vajra offer was not so bad, but....not so good. Dimensions are very similar. Details are far better on the Meng kit. Meng is evidently more easy to build.Meng have a complete cab interior with beautiful armor glasses. Meng's blade and ripper are movable, cab doors in open or close position... lots of great details!!

There are Mr. Color buffable paints that can be used with a brush, if you need such. Alclad just won't accept brushing, though.
