Hello again all, hope you have all had a relaxing and enjoyable Easter with family and friends.

I have spent quite a few hours in the workshop, I realised that if I did not get at least 90% of the model done this weekend, then I would not have it finished in time for 08-Open in Stockholm in two weeks time.

Well, after many intense hours, I can at least say that I have reached the 90% mark. The weathering is all but done, and all I need to add are the clear lenses for the headlights (which I managed to lose and had to order new ones) and also one or two fuel cans on the rear.

I am not sure how much stowage and stuff I will add to the roof, since the interior is pretty well packed - we'll see. An ammo box for the MG perhaps.

I have had huge problems taking pics today, the ones below are the fourth attempt. I think the lighting conditions have been a little odd today.

I am still not overly happy with the pics, for one I did not like the way the MG shows up as almost completely black when it actually has a metallic look in real life.

I'll see if I can do better during the next photography session, then the model WILL be finished for real :-)

As always, thanks for following the build.

Cheers,
Sven

Thanks for your faith in my work, Charles. With the high level of competition the way it is these days, I never even dare to guess how my work will place (if it places at all). We'll see how it goes, happy to have this one done whatever the case :-)

Look forward to meeting you in Stockholm. Surely you must have some new work to bring? It would be a great shame if I missed the opportunity to see your masterpieces in person.

Nothing new to bring Sven, unfortunately. Hope to build something this year. I was working on a sci-fi piece but my daughters action has pushed me back pass the completion date. So i will just be spectating. Hope to see you there.

Ok, I'm calling this one done! 4 years after starting, I have been really lazy with this one, taking very long breaks during the project.

Just some final pics of the completed model, including the lighting.

Next step is to make a proper base for it, but that will have to wait a few weeks :-)

Thanks all for following the project this far. More to come, but the vehicle is as of today done :-)

Cheers,
Sven

I keep coming back to look at this piece. Truely a Master piece. BTW Sven, how did you do at 08? Hope you won your class. A real pleasure to meet the person behind such a brilliant piece. The pics does not do it justice. Seeing it person was a real treat.

Hello Charles,

It was a great pleasure meeting you at 08-Open, just sorry that you did not have any of your fantastic work with you this year.

Thanks for all your very kind comments when we met, as well as here on Armorama and the IPMS Stockholm forum. Truly appreciated!

Yes, the model did rather well in Stockholm. It seems to have met with the judges approval and was awarded gold/winner in its category. I feel very honoured.

Hope to meet you again soon, I really enjoyed our chat!

Hello Roman and Magnus,

Thanks for that very generous feedback, guys, I appreciate it very much.

I am in the process of planning and preparing a scenic base for this, the plan is to have it done before "Art in Miniature" in Gothenburg this autumn. The model has not been entered in any other competitions since April 2015, so its getting old ;-)

Sven, I just saw this thread and it's totally awesome. Even though it took 4 years t build I say it was worth the time. One of the best M113 yet. Love the red, white, blue light inside the cabin. So, what's next?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for those very kind words, I appreciate it and am glad that you like the model.

The blue light is much more white in real life, strangely it comes up blue in pics.

Next up is a proper base for it, I've been meaning to get on with that for a long time now, so hopefully this summer that will get done :-)

Other than that, I have a few projects I would love to tackle (and a lot of half finished ones should get finalised), but have not really had the time to get around to them.

Something with an interior most likely :-)

Thanks again!
