These would be early in deployment. Other upgrades as seen in the new Legend upgrade set would be added before the final addition of the thermal blankets/Barracuda.

Not exactly, the Leopard C2 itself is an upgraded 1a5.

I meant is the c2 without maxes very similar to1A5 minus the steel/rubber aprons around the turret? If so, did tokem depict the tank inside maxes Modules pretty accurately so it forms a good basis for relatively painless conversion to 1a5? It looks like the turret surface studs for1A5 aprons are there.

I want to build an accurate leopard 1a5, but didn't want to use perfect scale's resin turret because I dislike the weight of large solid resin casts. (Perfect scale's turret appears to be solid inside, if not someone please let me know. ) So I am thinking about applying perfect scale's resin aprons onto a good styrene 1A5 turret core.

So far it seems to me tokem would probably offer the best 1a5 turret core.

If you use the Takom kit to create a Leopard 1A5 you still have to source out the majority of the hull details...i.e...all the pioneer tools, side skirts, front fenders,and the grouser racks on the hull.

The basic turret shape is probably OK to create a 1A5 but then you are faced with the German style turret bustle, turret armour, and antenna mounts, grenade dischargers racks, and AA MG versus the Canadian versions.

The Takom kit isn't designed to be a 2 in 1 kit...you can use the basic turret but you will essentially have to kit bash it to another Leopard kit to create a Leopard 1A5.

The turret armour mounts are not on the complete turret. Takom provided them only if you want to depict the kit with the forward MEXAS modules removed....the entire turret is void of the mounts unless you add the ones provided for the removed modules.

Mine just arrived today. The studs for the regular 1A5 turret are not in the kit unless they are the same as the MEXAS mounts, of which there are 8 total. The kit comes with the basic turret sprue which has turret top and bottom, mantlet, cover, hatches and gun.
