If Bronco hurries up, they have a British Airborne equipment set coming out, the announcement was over on PMMS this morning. It looks like they are getting as much mileage from the Para gear from their British Airborne jeeps, as well as other sets. I'm going to give this campaign a shot, not sure what I'm going to be building yet, guess I have time.

Nice another Market Garden campaign. I enlisted. It is about my home country and it is an interesting bit of WW2 History.

Actually it is the third Market Garden Campaign here. Waaaaay back there already was a Remember Market Garden campaign here on Armorama. I can't exactly remember when it was but I found an article I wrote about my project which was originally published in 2005 but the campaign itself must have been in 2004. I can't find it back in the search anymore. But it was a really fun campaign with quite some finished entries
Here is the article I wrote about my entry. Boy I have progressed a lot in all area's if I look at that.

There used to be quite a few but to be honest I think it is already 8 years back that I looked at one of them. Am not even sure they exist anymore but I will venture a little search to see if any are still online.
There are quite a few good books on the Subject. Concord used to have a book about the German forces in Arnhem with a lot of good pics in it. But it is out of print and pretty hard to get. Kampfraum Arnhem and Autumn Gale are other titles I recommend. The movie Theirs is their glory is quite cool because vehicles that were wrecked or abandonned around Arnhem and Oosterbeek were used.

"Theirs is the glory" was filmed on location in Arnhem with some of the men who were there playing themselves, including Lt. Col. John Frost, and Kate Ter Horst who owned the house where the British 1st Airbourne Div. put their injured.Also some of the footage is of the battle itself.
The Staffordshire Regt. (my old regt.)was the only British Battalion during WW2 to be awarded 2 VCs for one single engagement L/SGT. Baskeyfield and Major Robert Cain both 2nd South Staffords.

I had plans for the MB Horsa, but it doesn't look to be happening anymore. Does anyone know if it got taken up by Bronco?

Failing that I shall either have to rethink the plan or contact GNR abnout their resin kit, but it would be more cost effective to build in plastic, I think!

Hi Pete,

I had originally planned to use the MB Horsa either as a complete aircraft or as two separate planes but that option seems to have gone for now, hence my Bronco question as they have just released a German glider and already have some 1/35 scale aircraft.

Anyway, I can build some more vehicles and kit for the campaign whilst awaiting glider developments.

Is there a limited sign on time for this one?
The campaign has my name all over it I have been collecting market Garden info and Diorama material for 25+ years now. Some of the items are no longer made or the whole brand is gone (like Belgo)

But I'm not sure if I can pull this one of in time. After moving around for 5 years I'm finally getting all my hobby stuff to the house but it will be mid June by then. I have been out of the hobby for 20 years and feel like I'm starting from 0 again. I don't even know where to start with all my paints that are no longer made and have to be replaced.
The nice thing is that after 20 years it is like discovering aliens in my back yard. Research within keyboard/ mouse reach, models/figures and techniques available that would have left people crying back then. Bronco, Trumpeter, Meng....and...and.... here I come wait for me! hehehe CALM DOWN CALM DOWN

Hi Eric,

The campaign does not start till Sept.17th of this year and ends on Sept.25th of next year. You can enlist at any time, as long as you can finish by the end date so there is plenty of time to get your feet wet.

And welcome back I have recently come back to modeling after a 20 or 30 year absence myself.

I was going through my coveted copy of concords German armored units at Arnhem yesterday and i think i found just the oddball vehicle to built for this campaign. I'm keeping it under the hat fora bit till I'm fully sure which kit i need.

Rob no worries my friend we are all in this one together.

I am really pleased that someone is doing L/SGT. Baskeyfields last stand. I remember when I joined my Regt. there was this massive painting in the C.O.s building of a soldier manning a 6 pounder. I asked who is the picture of, I got some strange looks as John Baskeyfield was from Stoke-on-Trent. I was only 17 and a half at the time and didn't know a great deal about the history of the Regt.
I hope we have some entrants with the 82nd or the 101st too, as well as the 30th armoured and 1st Airborne. Bronco have done a Bailey Bridge kit that would fit in nice too. There is loads of scope with bridges and water dioramas too.
See Eric you are not the only one who is excited about this campaign.
