Walter thanks. I've been digging around and haven't seen any UN Type 82 command vehicles.

Pricklehead, Would there be an issue in using artistic license to make a UN white schemed Type 82 Command Vehicle? If it's an issue, it's not a big deal.

Thanks

I think I am going to hold off at least until after the New Year and see what kits cross my path. The Type 82 CP and BMP-1 would really be pushing things without a picture of one in UN service. I've got a couple of Humvee kits but I really don't have any interest in building a Humvee right now. I haven't been too long in finishing two Humvee kits.

Hi folks,

for this campaign I build this nice tank. An M60A3 with Pearson Combat Dozer Blade UKD-1 ... used by jordan Peacekeepers in UNTAES mission in former yougoslavia 1994. In the Book "Les blindés de l'ONU" (by Paul Malmassari, La Plume du Temps, 2000) there is an image where you can see the tank.

Sad to say that the new AFV-Club M60 didn't hit the shelves until today so I go with the DEF Model Kit DA-35001 (which ist based on the old Academy M60 but with some nice additions).
For the dozer blade I use the Perfect Scale M1 Dozerblade 35101 .. nicey castdt in resin. I have also the Trumpeter Challenger 2 KFOR at hand, maybe I must take some parts for the dozermounting.

As usual here are the images with date and yet untouched sprues ;-)

Wish you all a good start for this modelling campaign and happy modelling.

Cheers
Walter

Here is my choice. I decided to go the hard way with the MMK Lince.

If things really turn bad, I still can shift to the Trumpeter Puma
As I'm enlisted in another campaign, progress will certainly be slow.

Great choice Olivier.
I never saw this kit before .. I'm curious how the fitting and the qualtiy of the kit is.
Is there a manual on the disk or are this some reference pictures?

cheers

Good luck for this build.

I've seen "PDF instructions" were added on the MMK website for the LMV kit, with drawings instead of built photos of the CD.

Thanks for the links Alex. I haven't checked the site for a while and was not aware of this new set of instructions. Hopefully, they will be more useful than the pics on the CD.

Walter, I did a review of this kit in my site when it was released. Not a bad kit but it has some flaws and cannot be built into anything than an Italian and Czech vehicle. Even though, the turret ring is wrong and some details must be added. I'll how I tackle all of these problems.

Start pic...

Eastern express Gaz 66, SKP Resin Tyres and as much P/E as I need!!

Most likely I am going to build without the tilt as it's not that great and fill it with boxes?

I agree with you, because their photos are a bit fuzzy, so thanks to MMK Models for this update.
I've seen parts numbers are differents even concerning the chassis while this stage is strictly the same for LMV and Panther.

So for this campaign I'm hoping to turn an Italeri 1/35 Landrover 109 LWB into something like this:

A FinnBatt special operations vehicle, South Lebanon in 1987

You beat me at it Raphael I'm also in with a Heller AMX 30 AU F1.
The UN markings will be reused from Revell's BMP-1 kit.

I haven't noticed it before...
I will try to find another white UN auf1 pic with the model tracks, or find some new tracks (if they exist somewhere), or; well, do as I haven't noticed it

You won't find pictures of UN AuF1 with the old tracks. You'd better get a set of Friul tracks and modify the sprockets.

You're right Olivier! I have the old tracks in my Heller kit as well and I wasn't able to find any images with the old tracks on UN vehicles. The only alternative are the Friul ones for about 35 Euro.

To be honest, at that price (more than three times the kit price), I'll just have to live with it...

Thanks for pointing that out, tough!

Cristian

I forgot this set. It should do the trick as it is the same brand.
You'll still have to fix the sprockets.

Enjoy your build!

All kits are great here.

I had some progress on my AMX 30 AU F1 over the weekend. Assembly is almost completed, except for the small parts and joining the subassemblies (to be done after painting). I've done some light preshading and painted the wheels.
The kit was going together rather nicely. I only see some warping on the turret and probably some problems are right behind the corner concerning the upper and lower hull joining.
Here's the build so far (lose fit, no final assembly yet)... please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
