Thanks Mike for the Idea I may have found the perfect conflict to base this around, the 1946 Iranian crisis or aka Iran-Azerbaijan crisis. I can use the Stalingrad civies and some Russian troops and vehicles without having to do any major adjustments to uniforms or gear. Intersting to read the history of the conflict and seeing it was the first east vs the west cold war event.

I might be switching from the Argentine LVTP-7 to a Trumpy BMP-1. The BMP just seems more fitting.

Alex,

What ever you choose I am sure will be great!!
I did think that doing the Argentina line was a cool & different route though.

Mike,
I've been back and forth on this one for a good bit. I do think the Argentine vehicle is the more interesting of the two. We'll see when this thing kicks off.

Hi Alex,

Well I am sure that either will be great, and I know what you mean about deciding as still a little while off & I am now tossing up between, the BMP 1, M18 Hellcat, PT76b or a M113.

rcnpthfndr, I love that picture...do you have any more photos of this vehicle? I've got a ZPU-1 from the Meng Hilux kit and I'm sure I've got a neglected M113 laying about. I wouldn't do it for this campaign though.

I reveal my chioce from some time ago, I´ll go for this modified Cadillac Commando:

So far I´ve planed to use the HobbyBoss V 100 and some plastic sheet... Anyone aware of that gun in the turret? Could be a DShK...

Well, thechnically I´m not etirely wrong, the M117 is derivated from the Cadillac Comando (although in "second generation"). Thanks for the hint with it though, I´ll have a look at the Trumpeter M117, would be less scratching....
But as far as I´ve checked the dimesions aren´t that far off... would save me from buying another kit

Edit: Had a quick check with the Trumpeter kit, it´s missing a vison port between the front windows and the side door...

I just ordered an MP M4A4 set. I already have the turret and suspension. So, tracks and I'm set. I should have enough time to build it, for this campaign.

I haven't planned that far ahead. I'll be using the turret from a Mk.III. I'll do some research, tonight.

Matt,
I found some pics of M-41s, along with some other vehicles, in Lebanese army service; maybe you'll find them helpful, since the AFL must have gotten their tanks when the Lebanese army dissolved. https://milinme.wordpress.com/2014/12/31/lebanons-past-equipment/

Those photos are good ones. It was a slow day at work so I trolled the Internet looking for information on the M-41. Here's where I found the info from.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_Free_Lebanon#Structure

The Lebanese Army originally had the M-41s, then during the period after the army dissolved, the AFL got their hands on a few. I got the kit for $15 on Amazon over the holidays...just needed an excuse to build one

Thank both of you. These are of great help. The turret looks the same as I have, in a couple of photos. But, the gun is different. I may have to source an am barrel.

Okay I'll be doing HobbyBoss' 1/35 LVTP-7. The kit comes with markings for a vehicle in Italian, South Korean, or Argentine service. I'll probably be doing it in Argentine markings during the Falklands War. The kit has two-piece per link indie tracks and a full interior. This one has been in the stash for a few years. I'll take my time with it.
