No problem, as long as we have a photo of plastic sprues and WIP photos, I have no problems with that.

Well... there you have it Andras.

I got one of those too, heavy box full of plastic & metal.

AND... I am thinking of getting one of the rail transporter kits for those type of howitzers.

Now, thinking I am thinking too big? (err, what?) I was going for a dio setting anyway so why not put a track in there with the transporter too.
This way it will come with one of the howitzers so I can have one Trumpeter and one Dragon howitzer too!

Just in the "thinking stage" right now.

I planned to do dio too when I got it.
I know I won't any dio, lack of space and I can't do figures, but the damn kit looks great with it's HUGE metal ammo.
You can always add all of those Trumpeter transport, armoured rail cars, locomotives and do a small train station setting.. me and my crazy ideas..

You weren't kidding either were you! There's 4 1/2 sprues of PE, 2 large aluminum shells and both 'kinds' of tracks too.

This looks like almost as much fun as it would be building the M32! A few years back and this would have never interested me and might be more fun than the actual howitzers!

I picked up a 1/72 scale Revell, 3204: Faun SLT50-3 + PzH2000 + Fennek kit for another campaign(8x8 :: Sometimes eight wheels are better). I was going to use only the Faun SLT50-3 transporter for that build. Can I use the PZH2000 from that kit for this campaign.

I just signed up. I have a Soviet SU-122 to build. Comes with 8 figs so a little diorama is in order.

Aw, heck! I had been trying not to get myself sucked into too many campaigns since I'm falling behind on the ones I'm already enlisted in (not to mention the growing stash of unbuilt kits I continue to not have room for at home), but this one is just too cool. Guess I'm going to have to go find myself a gall-darned artillery piece to build!

Jeff i built that Trumpeter German Pz.KpfW IV Ausf.F Fahrgestell for my best mates brother ..very nice kit and hell did i have fun building the shell grapple ,,you can have in plastic or PE and even tho the PE one takes a heap of work it looks so good man ,,well worth the effort .
I have two of the Karl mortars on the transport wagons and oh its a great model..goes together very well and makes one damn impressive model ,,takes up a nice amount of space too
I am so looking forward to this campaign ...its gotta start soon cause i am getting anacy waiting .

Anyone got any feedback on Trump's 1/35 Karl? Something that could be done fairly easily in the time allotted? Any other recommendations on a good arty kit?

Hi Mark!

Well there are several towed behind kits out now that can be done in the allotted time.

I really want to stay as close to Jeff's original idea as possible, but I can't help but think the Trumpy Karl would be biting off more than I can chew. Maybe I nice little Brummbar or Sturmtiger--been wanting to do one of those for awhile too.

The Paladin looks like a good choice and I'm glad you chose my Campaign as your first.

Remember everyone... we kick this off at the first of the year!

Hi Mark! If you're talking about this one: http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/trumpeter/tr00209.html

Then yeah... THAT might take a bit of time!

But just the kit like this shouldn't be too much of a problem in 8 months! I have both DRAGON kits to decide from BUT really like that railway transporter kit (and I must get that) but I am going to squeeze one of these

in with the build too. Am I nutz? Yes.

(sorry about all the images... I was just in the mood!)

But a Brummbar or Sturmtiger will work too!

Jeff, I see a nice diorama there, with a railway station, cranes, transport trucks (IBG,Zvezda,AFV Club), all those Trumpeter Railcars (w/Panzer IV turrets, flak, transporters for equipment and tanks too) and a Leopold too... some Half.tracks and 2 88mm Flaks protecting the station.
This would be nice, s simple dio.

If you want to top things... add a Dora to it. But that would be insane.

I really wanted the Dora but I must admit... the price, it's a bit much for me right now then the size and there's the commitment time too. Plus there are other things I want that I can get with the money.

I should have held out for Trumpeters kit with the railway carriers but I found the two DRAGON kits on eBay for a song and a prayer and jumped on them.

But now I'd like to do a dio with a section of railway involved, like it was just unloaded and is 'driving away' from the area, joining another that is already firing. The suspension does that and has a firing and driving position.

BTW, does anyone know what type of Loco pulls these things? Any pics of them so I can dream more about it?

Oh well, who knows. Want, want, want.

Thought I'd shamelessly bump this (like everyone else does) and remind us that it starts January 1st as a NEW Campaign for 2015!

I think here you will find an opportunity to build something different for a change as you should join the rest of the 35 of us to accomplish this mission.

Mine will have not only the rail howitzer (2 if time permits), but the supply vehicle too in a small dio setting. I've been wanting to do one for a long time but have always been tied up with so many Campaigns. I do plan to have figures in this (I mean, what dio is complete without 'em) so it should be a grand effort on my part. A first.
