Thought start date was to be some in Dec-Jan Why Mar 2015????? That's certainly a ways off.

I know, I know; Nag, nag, nag.

Enlisted.

Start date is fine. It'll give me time to get all ducks in a row. I'll probably start with the Stuart Marder...gotta think of a better name for it. Maybe the hover LAV after that.

I've not tried one of these before, and I don't have any idea what I'll do, but this seems like a great haven from the rivet-counters, so I'm in!

Just to put it out there, I am thinking about doing a 4x6 Opel Blitz cargo truck. Been milling the possible design variations over in my mind for quite some time.

Not a rough shod field mod 3-axle Blitz, but something polished to look like a one of a kind Opel factory "proof of concept" demo vehicle.

I've been designing (on paper) a Tiger 1 and Panther if used by the Israelis during the war of independence in 1948 through the early 50s. Right now I am thinking a different main gun and different suspension although I have also been playing with placing a different turret on top like the French AMX on a Sherman.

Anyway, that's my way of saying I'm in.

Cheers

I'm going to convert the KpZ-70 into an Air Defence gun system. Lower hull is started, but I'll shelve it until the 2015 start date. Give me a good reason to start yet another new project

I snagged another Tamiya M51 the other day, so I now have a couple of extra gun tubes and associated accessories. I just can't decide on whether to use the French 105 or the L7. I'm leaning towards the latter, seems like more of an improvement over the 90mm than the French gun. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Count me in!

I just started the Meng D9R, and my initial plan is to finish it a US Navy "Seabee" dozer, with the full IDF slat armor kit. Will also be in standard 3 tone NATO cam as opposed to IDF green or the normal desert tan like we saw on Marine D9s in Iraq in 2004.

I absolutely love these campaigns! My Jagdsturmtiger from the last campaign was so much fun.

This time around Im planning on building a 1950's era 'Standard-Panzer' from a scenario where Germany had been victorious (or at least some sort of armistice was reached)

I will be using a Leopard 1A2 as the main chassis and incorporating numerous parts from Panther, King Tiger, and E series AFV's.

Cant wait to get this Campaign started!

Enlisted! Someone may wnt to change the Mission Statement on the enlistment page though "What if V,, The return if the weird"

My plans, at the moment, are the Trumpeter Fennek with Live Resin SAG turret & M134 or else one of the LR designed RWS stations, in IDF colour scheme and maybe with the two Black Dog female IDF figures. But plans can always change. March start date suits fine for me.

Finished this up for another modeling site. I figure I'll do a hover LAV for it as a stablemate. It's a USMC M52 Water Moccasin.

Thanks Sean. It was a fun build. I plan on eventually bringing it together with the LAV as a tongue-in-cheek recruitment ad. They pull up on a busy beach and a beer commercial breaks out. I'm thinking Baywatch meets a Budweiser commercial...with a dash of Beach Blanket Bingo.

Stoked to get this one going.

From the dark recesses of my mind, my current plan for this campaign, sketched on the proverbial cocktail napkin...
WhatIf4 scheme by windysean, on Flickr
Using Trumpeter's M1 Panther kit, to make an ARK type of vehicle, but with a raised, offset operator's cab. We'll see how this develops.
Cheers!

Is this proposed or fantasy "What If?" based on modern AFVs or does that include defensible sci-fi-ish creations as well? I can go either way on this one.

I'm in either way. On moderns, I'd do a M1E2 Abrams or a production version of the M1 TTB the M1E2 would have evolved out of. The M1E2 is a remote-turret version with an 120mm gun and autoloader as detailed in the Twilight:2000 role-playing game. I would almost prefer do the M1 TTB since actual photos of it exist. It's just not as funky but I'd do it with the interior built to show the forward 3-crew member armored pod and possibly open up the hull and turret to show the autoloader.

The actual M1 TTB:

Or I'd do a LAV-75, again from the Twilight:2000 RPG. Modified M113 chassis mounting a 90mm low pressure gun. And like the M1 TTB, this was actually built in several prototypes:

Now, if sci-fi is allowed, I would do a tank called a "Velox Mortis Mk.II", a tracked heavy tank from my own sci-fi universe. Four independent tracks, four man crew in a forward armored pod, central turret with an offset 180mm smoothbore Gauss cannon with an autoloader, a separate 30mm autocannon remote weapon turret on top of the main turret, four anti-personnel lasers (2 aft on the turret, one forward, one aft), 16 cell vertical launch system, drone launch system, ECM and radar blisters. Hybrid fuel cell and electric motor power at each tread. I've been trying to put together a short story or novel around the experiences of a crew member on such a tank in a future war and it might be fun to actually build it for inspiration.

Either way, I'm in.

Well the first of March has come. I'm looking for some weirdness!
Still clearing my own workspace, but I'll be along shortly. 6 months to get it done!
Cheers,
