Hi guys,

As the HF forum is pretty quiet, I wanted to share a few pics of a vignette that I have been working on.

I have been busy today cutting out some laser cut paper ivy leaves to place on the wall and still have to add some longish grass strands to break the groundwork up a little.

Cheers,

Shay

The climbing ivy looks really good, and the cat made me smile.

The flowering plants are very nice, not sure about those giant pumpkins though...who set them down there?
I like the swede saw better. my granddad had one just like it.

Okay , here you are Shay !

I like the scene very much ,it's full of colors and a real piece of art!

Nice touch with the cat lying peacefully on the top .

Greetings !

Hi Shay - nice build all around - the bright colors are so different than what we usually see or build! Good for the "idea" files!

Cheers

Hi guys,

@Jerry...as most of my stash mysteriously went missing inbetween a divorce and shifting houses a few times..I pretty much had to start from scratch after a 5-6 year break.
The wall is a mold I made from a Monroe Perdu "old village road", the cobbles are aquarium stones and most of the vegetation is either from Joefix or Heiki.
I wanted to create a lazy peaceful scene...with the small distraction of a gnome on the run! Hence the unusual colours and pumpkin!!

@ Jonathan..after some thinking and taking in your advice I decided to remove one of the pumpkins. I think it fits nicely within the scene and adds something extra to it besides the flowers. I have posted some pictures of the cat below

@ Kurt..Merci e maat! This is my first vignette in 6 years and I have really enjoyed making it. It may not be everyones cup of tea but I will take your compliment without a problem

@Nick..It is more a fantasy type theme, so the colours have to be vibrant to compliment the gnome figure I have painted.

Cheers,

Shay

I love it. I love the whole set up. The wall forms a nice backdrop and the colors bring it to live. I like vibrant colors in dioramas. Looking at a lot of dioramas you often almost get the idea that color was invented somewhere in 1950.
Looking forward to the gnome. Is it a Rien Poortvliet kabouter?

Hi guys,

My vignette is almost completed and if it's ok i wouldn't mind posting the last few updates here on the diorama section.

Although this probably would be deemed fantasy/figure and should be placed under the HF forum, I would rather place everything here. HF used to be so vibrant..what happened to that place?

Anyway, here is a small update of the cat and figure to be added to the scene..

The cat after 3 unsuccessful attempts (twice in a plactic bag with oven cleaner)

And a few pictures of the Gnome on the move:

Any feedback or remarks would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Shay

Thanks Robert..you summed up exactly what I wanted to achieve.
Something out of the box colour wise shouldn't go astray these days

Great work on the colorful scene and gnome. I like the cat too. On top of the wall it is an eye-catcher by itself.

The cat has been in the bag two times and is still alive. Only because they have nine lives!
