Trumpeter answered a question on their FB page about whether the kit will have any interior by saying "yes"

How was the question asked exactly? Cause, you know... all kits have an interior, some of them are just empty!

You can actualy see the top of the seat backrest - note that the crew seats very low inside.

This is the best quote I could find with all the relevant information: "As with the other Allied victors in World War II, the Soviet Union utilized German V-2 technology to develop their own ballistic missiles. The R-11M was the second generation of Russian tactical missile design and featured a much improved engine versus those based on the V-2. Sergei Korolev of OKB-1 (Special Design Bureau-1) led the original rocket design while Viktor Makeyev of Experimental Plant No. 385 in Zlatoust took over for the modification of the rocket to be able to deliver tactical nuclear weapons.

Flight trials took place during the mid-1950s for the nuclear capable version, and the missile system, known as 8K11, went into operational service with the Army on 1 April 1958.

In order to improve mobility and speed-to-launch, the Army requested a self-contained system. The Kirov plant adapted the ISU-152K assault gun carriage to take the missile system. This tracked vehicle acted as the Transporter, Erector, Launcher (TEL) and received the designation 8U218.

The R-11M was fielded with both conventional and nuclear warheads. The destructive power of the latter gave the Scud-A the promise of being a more effective weapons system. With a CEP (circular error probable) of 4 km, it would take a lot of destructive power to compensate for the fact that only 50 percent of the warheads would land within that distance of the target. I don't expect a price, for a few more weeks. This is the first mention of the kit.

Yup. Scud-A was a 8U218 Tel with R-11 missile. Like the Jadar "Five Star" 1/35 Scud-A model.

Simply put, naming designations base on NATO are a mess. The 2P19 with R-17M is a SS-1c Scud-B. But, the 9P117 TEL with the R-17M series missiles is also designated SS-1c Scud-B. So at some point the "common use" name for the systems came to be Scud-A for the 8U218 TEL with R-17 OR 2P19 with R-17M and Scud-B for the 9P117 TEL based system. And to make matters more confusing, there was an attempt to improve the R-17 series missile at the same time that the 9M76 Temp missile was being tested, produced, and deployed (SS-12 Scaleboard) that received the designator of SS-1d Scud-C. No TEL, just the missile system. So, it is a nomenclature mess. And then trying to translate this mess for the Chinese model manufacturing system. Um, yeah.

Regardless of its label on the box, it appears to be the 2P19 TEL with R-17M missile. Fine with me, I will enjoy building it.

Thanks for that, it's interesting as I'd always thought the Scud-A had the R-11 missile? I also assumed the SS-1c Scud-B designation went with the missile regardless of the TEL? But like you say I too will build it and enjoy it.
