There is a huge difference between ART and just random pictures of naked women.

Or random plastic models of nude women!

Definitely agree with the Sarge.

Gents this argument/discussion is pointless as the rules of the site clearly tell you that this type of content and links are not acceptable. I am sorry if you feel that this stamps on your freedoms, but the rules are in place for the benefit of the membership as a whole.

This may be of interest to some:

2015 IPMS National rules for eligibility of models.

It appears that IPMS has taken steps regarding both nudity and at least some of the more horrific aspects of war. And apparently they will supply a screened off "adult" area at the competition when necessary.

If I read this correctly the "girl with the AK" would be allowed behind the screen in the competition but "Patton peeing in the Rhine" is definitely out!

Looks like the IPMS has it taken care of.

Granted the rules of this site may be different, but on other forums I belong to we usually put 'NSFW' in the thread title to warn folks. Might that have helped this situation a little?

Don't really see the uproar on this.
Yes,you'll see a lot more on TV.
The box art shows boobs.Oh my God!
I would be more concerned with the palm trees.
Don't like it,don't buy it or look at it.
There's a lot more nudity in figures out there than this.

Perhaps one of the reasons this topic has gotten into the weeds is that the original link to the image was deleted from that thread about a tank kit being release by Rye Field Model.

It was an image of a topless woman. A real woman. Not an illustration of a 1/35 figure or the plastic parts that make up a model (kit) figure. Nudity relating to kit releases can be covered here or talked about in relation to the hobby. Photos or links to photos with actual real naked people... not allowed. Pretty simple.

We want to encourage a kid friendly environment here. If you want to look at photos of nude women there are plenty of places online for that. And I mean plenty.

Cheers,
Jim

I should have used this image: https://www.colourbox.com/preview/1720426-portrait-of-the-beautiful-woman-sitting-at-the-rye-field.jpg and avoided useless trouble. Although...just doesn't have the same impact.

I really don't have a problem with the female figure sets. For the most part they have a use in their given context or could be used as the basis for a conversion. I actually plan to use the girls from the paras set to make bikini girls for a project I'm doing...making a dive boat from the Tamiya Pibber.

I don't think we need pictures, real or in plastic/resin, of people depicting explicit sexual acts. Nor do we need real nekked ladies posing. I don't believe in using profanity here.

I get people's concerns over work, kids, etc. If a kid wants to see boobs he's not going to come to Kitmaker to see them. Likewise, if they are old enough to browse alone at this site they probably have seen worse and can accept a topless figure for what it is. As far as run-ins with IT, I would think work would not view box art the same it would shemale donkey porn. If you pull up an art site do they fire you for a picture of Venus de Milo?

All that said, I do find it odd that we're arguing over minor representations of female nudity while the majority of the content of this site focuses on objects of violence. Aren't most female fantasy/scifi figures of scantily dressed well-endowed women folk?

My suggestion is to say no to real life nudes and sexual acts. There's plenty of places on the interwebs for that and I'm not really sure why you'd post those here any way. Kits with partial nudes allowed but it might be best to slap a NSFW tag in the topic field.

It's called a joke, and in this instance, a rather extreme example for the sake of comparative contrast. The point being that it's doubtful that an IT guy is going to view the box art and sprue shots of a model figure set as the same as hardcore pornography. Unless the figure set is a depiction of a sexual act.

Anyway, I agree that porn should be kept off this site. I don't necessarily consider the noted figures to be porn. This is a modeling website and there are cases when some figures may show some skin. Most sci-fi/fantasy female figures are going to be wearing skimpy clothing. Figure kits up for review go through the site editors so I trust there's some oversight.

Agreed. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish humor from sarcasm from cynicism, without winkies, LOL's, eye-rolls, etc.

Can't wait for a company to come out with a Male soldiers at rest set. You can have some bathing in the outdoor shower stalls, some skinny dipping in the Rhine river or taking a dump in the latrine. The possibilities would be endless.
How a bout a POW set showing prisoners getting beat up by guards set. Those would be cool.
But I agree. Ewww! A nude 1/35 female set. Just makes me angry to no end. I don't want to see any female nude, real or plastic! (Model plastic, not Pamela Anderson plastic.)
Now let me get back to building my cool tank that slaughtered millions of civilians.

Re: The above- They've been given the "404" auto-censoring stuff. I'm going to log on this site once I go off ARMORAMA, just to see what all the "hubbub" is about.

I personally don't find the MASTER CLUB Figure set in question offensive, in particular. The Human Body is a beautiful thing. You can walk down any street and find nudes in regular, every-day statuary. If some of you are going to take the "moral high ground", then why aren't you objecting to Adam and Eve's "lack of attire" before their fall? No pictures, but it IS written in every single Bible. Are you going to blush and run if you see "Venus de Milo" in a museum, or at the sight of any Rubenesque artwork that you might come across? What about Michelangelo's various works, or Leonardo Da Vinci's, among many others'? Any kid can walk into a store that sells adult magazines and get an "education" on the spot! What's the big deal?

Have you guys checked regular "mainstream" TV, lately? Tune in to "Comedy Central TV", and you'll find stand-up "Comics" saying 'S**T, P**S, and F**K six times in a simple three-word-sentence. And THAT passes for "Humor". But I suppose that's OK.

Offensiveness- For instance, KIDS can tune in to "Zombies", hideous Aliens, and any kind of Monsters that the imagination can conjure up, eating people ALIVE any time they want to, not to mention all of the other explicit, or implied sex that their parents regularly watch, INTERNET notwithstanding. BLOOD AND GUTS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! TV- Shootings, stabbings, and all kinds of other mayhem going on. And on-line porn- Take a pick of your favorite perversions! And what about DOGS "doing it" on street corners? I suppose THAT'S OK, though...

If you object to a particular Figure, or Figure set's content, don't buy it. Simple as that...

What about the Germans "taking care of business" and GIs "doing the same" that VERLINDEN AND MASTER BOX marketed..? If I remember right, these were IMMENSELY POPULAR. and sold out very quickly...

I for one, agree that the subject of this thread should be dropped. We're going to have different opinions, no matter which form the content of our forums happen to take...
