Here is my completed "Nebelwerfer Trench" diorama for cover up. The figures are old Tamiya and the nebelwerfer is a newish Italeri. The scrub and plants were scrounged from the garden. The shrubs are actually moss peeled from a tree. The base is celluclay over styrofoam, and i made the sandbags from milliput. this is only my third attempt at a diorama. The pics are in my gallery and are the only pics in the gallery because i cant figure how to put pics in the forum posts "I'd rather have a German division in front of me than a French division behind me" - General Patton |

Ground work and general layout are very good. You get the feel of the action without asking "What's happening here?" and that's important in a dio. I have two issues here, however. The dead German in the trench looks lke he has been laid out in a coffin, too straight and stiff. The secind issue is the flag...as I suggested to Bus in his coverup dio, painting a flag is out of most of our leagues (myself included!) Go back and see what I suggested to Bus. Also, the flag you have appears very stiff and the inner surfaces look like they have not been painted/dyed.
Please accept these suggestions in a constructive nature. You have very good ideas and are showing good skills.
BTW, the Nebelwerfer has been around from Italeri/Esci for a very long time. It's still not bad and the only game in town. It was issued ages ago by ESCI as a kit with Germans in winter uniforms and by Italeri atog an Opel Maultier halftrack. |

thats a cool subject to build, you dont see many Nebelwerfer dios. i like howyou put some dead germans around and also all the gear. the ground work is done well and the figues are nice, keep up the good work. but the Nebelwerfer could use some black pastles. where the rockets come out to make it look like it was just fired |

Thanks for the advice guys, it didn't even occur to me to put powder stains on the nebelwerfer. i also had the stiff in the bottom of the trench with the idea that he took a long time to die, so thats why he looks straight. thanks again, and i hope to get something going for the Apprentice Guild Exercises (A.G.E.) soon. |

Looked at this again. My good friend Capt. (Ret) Bob spent 20 years in the National Guard and I've learned a thing or two from him we as modelers often miss. One of those is rocket exhaust is hot, real hot, damned hot. Every rocket propelled munition has a specified area behind it that is a killing zone during launch. The exhaust will burn/cook everything there, a TOW, probably similar in exhaust to the Nebelwerfer has to have 75 feet straight back clear to be safe. Consider that if you do another dio with a Nebelwefer. |

It's called the "back blast" and that will certainly ruin your day if you're caught in it. |

That's a nice little dio, with a lot of action ! Still, I don't understand what this is doing here : Quoted Text
"I'd rather have a German division in front of me than a French division behind me"
Is it some kind of humour I don't understand ? |
