Hi guys I have another build on the go, I picked up this kit for a good price on eBay last week, I have wanted to build 1 for a while as I think it is cool looking vehicle.

My impressions of the kit are good, and it builds quickly without to much fit issues.









I have the Mig Ammo modern Russian paint and weathering set to



The cammo decals for the interior look like a challenge, but should look awesome when finished.

Scott- great looking build so far. Is this the Meng kit? It looks like it so I will tell you that the decals do look difficult but they are nicely made and the fit is pretty much perfect. I only damaged one decal which I was putting on the roof somewhere- but it was barely noticeable and not really seen at all when the body is put on the chassis. I'm looking forward to seeing how that weathering set looks when used with the Russian color set.

Hey buddy it id the Meng kit, thanks for the feedback on the decals. I have watched some of the tutorials on you tube for using the weathering as I have the T90 to paint up and weather to.

made some progress on the Humski, the chassis and floor pan are painted and the first lot of decals are on. Unfortunately I have run out of paint and primer, due to my unique geographical location and lack of local model shop it will be a few days before I can get much more done.

The decals look great... did you have to use a lot of setting solution so they would conform to the shape of the wheel well?

Hi Hisham, I did have to use a lot of solution but they did condom. The decals are a slightly different shape for eather side as the wheel arch and interior fittings are not the same on both sides.

Bit of an update, I have added the cammo decals to the interior.

I sprayed the inside of the body with Tamiya X-1 gloss black and left it over night while I was at work. this gave the decals something to stick to.



I got the decals to line up and sit nicely on the inside of the body without to much bad language. The cammo decals have to be put on before the fittings on the inside of the shell.





There are a few small gaps between some of the decals but these will not be visible whet the shell and the chassis are joined.



I still need to seal in the decals but I think it looks not to bad. I also managed to find some primer locally so weather permitting I will get more of the parts primed outside tomorrow.

The odd thing is the parts that don't have the cammo need to be painted a pale blue-gray, kind of defeats the purpose really.

The interior camo sections are not actually painted camo- they are fabric sections that attach to the frame on the inside. I'm guessing here but I would say they may, in addition to providing cushioning from the metal frame, provide some form of ballistic and/or fire protection.

I made some progress today, I got outside between the snow/rain/sleet showers and the howling wind to get a few more parts primed for paint.

I also weathered up the chassis and wheels, I want to go for a dirty look since we all know military vehicles look better with a layer of dirt. I started using the Mig Ammo weathering set, I used the guide that is available on Migs you tube channel.

It uses plaster and some of the effects liquids and pigment in the set to create built up mud, this is the first time I have used this technique on a kit. It allows you to build up texture in the mud.




I gave the tyres a coat of the mixture as well, I then wiped most of the dirt off before it dried.







I also sealed in the decals on the inside of the body and they do look nicer when they have a matt coat applied.

Excellent weathering Scott- I used a plaster mix for the mud on my own very dirty Tiger!

Good build. Only the ICM attenae are off the spot as the wiring runs trough the open side windows and Meng did them shut. Waste of plastic.

Got the first of the paint sprayed this afternoon, I started with some pre shading and highlighting. I wanted to give the body a more interesting look as it has big flat areas that have different angles that would catch the light in different ways.

I started with a thin strip of black at the bottom of the body and worked up the panels with panzer grey, light grey and white on the extreme top edge of the upper most panels and the centre of the roof.









This was a bit of a task but thanks to some Tamiya tape, patience and colourful language I got it done.

After I gave it some time to dry off I sprayed down the first light coat of the dark khaki green from the Mig Ammo set. This is the suggested shade to use for the modern 3 colour Russian camouflage, I think it looks a little to light but it my darken up a bit with another coat and a wash?

Yeah I must agree with Hisham in that the pre-shading really adds a nice tonal variety to the paint.
