It would be nice to see a 251/11 field phone version. I made a conversion set that is sold by Greymatterfigures in England. There were several in every armoured Bn and armoured arty Bn as well.

haha, this will help me clear out 1 of the 5 of these in my stash, to join the 5 I already have on the shelf.

...I might have a problem with these.

I'll join in as well. Will you be making the official campaign thread in the campaign section?

I'll be joining with AFV Club 251/1 Ausf. D

Cheers,
Dustin

I still have 2 more Dragon 251's in the stash so Im in
My suggestion is to move this tread to the campaign section and get it out of the Diorama part

Sal, I have no idea why it's gone in the dioramas section so I'll have to check that out and get it moved when it becomes live. The 251/8's looking nice mate. When it gets approved I've put the link to this thread on the campaign page so we can come directly here rather than look for it amongst the forum posts.

Just go into Campaigns and you'll see the campaign there now to enlist. If you click on the additional info/images under the campaign info it brings you back here which is where we'll be working.

I already did join, but was wondering if there would be a separate thread to put our pictures and/or images in.
So we'll just use this one, then.

Just got done doing the old Tamyia one and have the Dragon 250 'Neu' on the shelf so I will give it a go. Just need to pick a theater and scheme before I give her a go, but then again I have some time.

Jerry, it's part way down in the armour category. Just under the MRAP campaign.

Ron, I thought we may as well keep it all on here rather than create a seperate thread as I've noticed in the past that when some have started a seperate thread you end up getting people posting on one or the other rather than everyone post on the same one. It just seemed to make more sense keeping it all in one place. Plus it makes it easier at the end for me to dish out the campaign ribbons . I'll have to have a think about a ribbon. Mind you there's no rush on that one as we've got another month before kick off.

I think I'm going to do an Sdkfz 251/9 as a start as I've got a few to choose from with the DML 3 in 1 kits. I'm building a 251/7D at the moment which is going okay apart from some bits not fitting properly so I should be wise to the kits by the time we get to start. Plus I'm getting used to the individual track links (big yawn) so getting some practice in lol.

OK,I finally figured out how to enlist and so am good to go. I still need to purchase the correct 251 kit for my project though. I need a 251/1D and I thought I had one in the stash but it's a 3C.
When I get all of the parts and kits assembled and ready to build I will post a start pic. How does that fit?

Sounds good to me Jerry. So long as people put some build start pics up and a few in progress shots I'm happy. I'm not one of these people who insists on a photo of the contents of the box with todays newspaper. I don't even buy newspapers lol. Always seems a bit unneccessary to me as we're all adults and I think we can all trust each other to start after the start date. I'm really looking forward to the start to see what people are going to do due to the huge amount of variety on a common theme. I've just been looking at the Modellbau conversion set for a 251/8 which looks quite tempting. Not sure what their stuff's like though as I've never bought any before. May try that at a later date.

Sorry Andras, it's got to be a clean start. The trouble with allowing part builds is it sets a dangerous precedent as some people may have only just put a couple of bits together but then you get some people where all they've got to do is put the decals on so it just seems easier and fairer that everyone starts at the same time. To me, it doesn't seem fair that people have almost finished their kit and qualify for a ribbon in a few days of the start as they've been building for months already. The campaign runs for 9 months so plenty of time to start and finish which is usually the problem people encounter with shorter campaigns, having to rush to get finished on time. Been there before and finished that morning whereas if I run a campaign I like people to be able to take their time and get the best results they can. I hope that hasn't put you off joining as there's plenty of time to get a new kit for the campaign

Got my kit right before the snow storm. Two days from ordering to delivery. Sprue Brothers rocks again!
The AFV club 251D/1 at first look appears better than the Dragon version. The interior wood liners are way better for instance.

I've got a 251 on the go at the moment for the 500+ campaign which is a bit of a bonus as it's a steep learning curve re DML 251's. Nothing fits properly once you go to put the hull top on. Aarrgh! I've had to take it off and do the assembly in a completely different order. Now the glue and filler (huge gaps at the backplate)have set I've noticed the hulltop is about a millimetre further over on one side so the side boxes stick out further on one side. Plus I've knocked one of the steering wheels off. At least when I start my campaign 251 I'm aware not to follow the instructions too closely and to build it in an order that suits me rather than DML's dodgy instructions. Something to be aware of if you've not built one of these before. I'm finding it easier working from a picture on the screen. I've been using this one which is the Littlefield 251

http://thepanzertrap.com/panzertrap_251photos.html

How's everyone getting on with their research and choosing a kit? I think I'm still going to go with the 251/9. If I get time I may do another one. I've got a 250/3 and a 250/10 as well to build so may do one of them as well. I've just bought a new dual action gravity feed airbrush which is loads better and easier to use than the one I'd got so I'm more confident doing camo patterns with it so looking forward to the start date.
