[quote]Good Luck!

Thank you Stephen!
I have always liked the looks of this aircraft.
This one will be an out of the box build with an attempt at rigging!
I see that the decals with the kit are different to your photo?

Only by a few weeks. The story of the identity swap of Jasta 15 & 18 is the stuff of legend. My image was probably taken pre March 14 1918. The straight edge cross was probably added after Jasta 15 & 18 exchange log books. Probably by late March early April. Oblt. Berthold did not want to leave Jasta 15 to become the new Jasta 18 leader. So to comply he forced these 2 units to swap identies keeping the personnel & equipment. In effect they swapped war diary log books.

I Highly recommend the JG II or Jasta 18 books from Elite or Vanguard series from Osprey.

Here is a J.18 book review Check out the thumbnail images there.

Note that the photo reveals that this aircraft is a D.V, not a D.Va, the way Eduard incorrectly shows on the box art. The clue is the aileron bell cranks and fairings on the upper wing. To be properly accurate, you'd need to steal the etched brass fairings from the recently issued Profipack kit.

On the fairing for the D-V aileron; the job can also be accomplished with card stock (plastic or paper). I believe I used a business card corner. Look at some pictures. Did an Aurora/Glencoe like this.

Your work is nice

Enjoy

Finely Done!
Out of the box and no rigging, but build for III will have rigging and I have started building instead of waiting until to the last few weeks in the year of the campaign

Thank you Michael for the group build!
