I feel your pain. I'm a bit worried about my parts count. But, there's nothing to it but to do it.

Clayton.. if I were you, I'd keep this beast for a possible 1000+ campaign in the future, and try to build something else for the 750+

That is one Hell of an undertaking!

LOL, if you think about it, 1 car and the Gun cover 750...the 2nd car is a bonus! LOL....hell, the display stand is over 30 parts, ;-)
Plus- it's rubber band tracks, if they were individual...nutso!

You know, I was considering that with my M1070. Saving it for a 1000+ campaign, building my original idea which was Takom chieftain and figuring out something else for the truck/trailer campaign. I don't know, I'm torn on what to do.

That is an IMPRESSIVE kit (coffin!? ) for a brave man, Clayton! What an endeavor!!! Really looking forward to your build!

Concerning the 1000+ campaign, we'll certainly need kits for that one too but it will be something like an year from now until that would possibly start and by the rate companies churn out large kits lately, there will be for sure something else we'll want to build. If I'd be to skew a Hungarian saying "Don't leave it for tomorrow if you can build it today"

On a similar note, I was thinking about a campaign for "recuperation" after the large builds. Something along the lines of 100-/150-/200-? It would run in parallel to this one, maybe slightly offset. Thoughts?

You mean there are kits with this parts count these days?

I guess a nice simple Tamiya kit would fit the bill

Billie Jean.. it will be interesting to see this Tiger built.

Great looking kit!

Cristian, that so nods like a great idea about the new campaign. I'd be in for that.

Tat- thanks, but there is a fine line between "Brave" and "Looney", LOL
Billie Jean, that's a Big Tiger!Looking forward to seeing it.
Cristian- great idea, I always have a small kit on the side of the bench going, I call them "Waiting for the Glue To Dry" kits!

@Billie Jean: That looks like a superb kit! Just looking at those tracks makes me shiver

Concerning the small kits campaign, I was thinking about setting the threshold to 150, calling it 150-. This should fit most of the smaller 1/72 kits. What do you all think?

I'd be in for the 150, but I only want to build in 1/35th, personally.

There won't be any scale limitation, of course! I was just thinking of my 1/72 stash

Regarding the 150 parts or less.. the only problem is determining the number of parts.. since most kits don't list it. Do you guys have any example of a 1/35 scale kit with 150 parts or less? For example, how many parts would be in a Tamiya T-72, or the Enigma.. or the Le Clerc? Or does it have to be something small like a Jeep or something?

I think most of those kits would be over 150 parts. To be honest, I can't think of any 1/35 tank kit that would fit the bill. Maybe some old Heller kits from the 70s and 80s?

I'd say we take this discussion to a separate topic and see what other people may think: http://armorama.com/forums/251774&page=1#2131592

I would love to join ....
( I got caught short on the 500+ campaign )
so I'm asking before I start building..
Is it a requirement of this campaign,
to paint the finished build participating model?

-un-started-
I have a M1A1 with a DefModel USMC ABV
and I was thinking of adding PE TUSK on the side skirts.

The rules are the same as for the 500+ campaign. The model needs to be painted to be considered finished.
