Hi Robin and thanks!
I absolutely agree with everything you say. Everyone wants to wet their beak, everybody takes a piece and the customer and the retailer are getting squeezed.
I have a lot of open tables in the store and people can drop in play a game, build a model, paint a monster (or a fig) or learn how or just hang out. I think the play space is what keeps the store (and me) going.
I do sell a lot of games and cards, I wish I could get people back into models but the prices are just so sky high. The perceived value just isn't there.
And when I buy a kit like the Dragon Sexton expressly for the CDP track and they need replacing, you bet I am going to scream! And I let the customers know and I have written to Dragon as well.
BTW Kevin if you are still following this, how bad is the barrel of the 25pdr? I am going to be extra p'od if I have to replace that too!
Your excellent Sexton looks great with the aftermarket track. But wouldn't you have been a bit happier if you could have used the kit tracks instead of the US30 extra you had to spend?

BTW Robin, I wasn't aware of that particular instrument for calculating inflation but have added it to my bookmarks. The inflation calculator gives a shocking result doesn't it?

The barrel is not bad, I did replace it with a RB Models barrel though. But it is definitely usable, just have to clean up the seam when assembled.

Thanks Kevin I think I can live with that.
Just read Darren's review of the DML 25pdr. I haven't opened mine yet so I think I will try and pass it on and get the Bronco version. If I make it cheap enough I am sure the flaws will be forgiven.
I'd like to keep the trailer and ammo stuff but that makes for an expensive accessory set.

Darren is my goto guy for 25pdr info. I believe I measured the Dragon barrel, and it was off by less scale inch. And I beleive one of the collars was not wide enough. But for most it would not be noticeable. The RB Barrels are very inexpensive, and I would think cheaper then going after the Bronco kit.

I may have an extra 25pdr RB barrel, I will check when I get back from Armorcon this weekend.

Having read through this thread

You are a pearl amongst swine, the fact you care enough to stock something that is in the long run costing you sales to further the hobby and to cater to your "niche" customers is both admirable and heartening, long may your business continue to both grow and thrive.
