This diorama is nothing new. That's because it is a smaller version of the first diorama I built some years ago, which I dismantled because of unsatisfactory reasons. But, I wanted to do a smaller version of the previous one, but was not sure how I wanted it. So here is that same diorama with exception of the US figures. I wanted the attention to be on the opposite side.

I think I am satisfied with this version, although, I am sure there will be others who preferred the latter diorama to this. But no worries. To each, his own. 1f642.png:) BTW, I still have not improved on my figure painting as the figures have been left the same as on the previous diorama. Simply have not enough time to fully concentrate on that. So, I only, repainted certain parts of the figures and weathered them a little.

I was hesitant in showing this diorama due to the figures not being up to standard. But I have been busy with other Sci-FI projects lately. Anyhow, I hope you all like this version 2, regardless of the first. Thanks for your support and pepping me on my journey towards improvement. Small note. I had done more weathering after these photos were taken on the building.

Excellent build, very realistic! Is the base from "Phoenix'?

Well Charles

All I can say is Iíll be happy to send my figures over to you for painting anytime, yours look pretty damn good to me. Iím not familiar with modern figures (i.e. I donít know if theyíre oob or customized) but I love the dynamism in all 3 & your attention to detail particularly with the building is fantastic . Iíve been staring at the scene for several minutes & keep seeing something new.

Brilliant Ė sounds like youíre over it now, pity as Iíd really like to see its companion piece with the US figures.

Cheers, Tim

Thank you kindly. The figures are from Masterbox. I am a bit finicky when it coms to painting figures. I am still trying to get it right. soon.

Looks great Charles. The only thing I would change is the "No Smoking Within 500 Miles of Baghdad" sign. That one looks a little strange to me. I have never seen any sign like that before.

I will find the photo of the sign for you. It was taken in Iraq but I think it was a joke by the soldiers. I saved it somewhere on my external drive.

Really nice scene. You got a lot of action and detail in a small space. Not easy.

It's nice looking dio I think I'd like to see something on the other side of the wall -some bin bags?, a dumpster?, just something to break up the lines.

Just curious. How is this question related to this topic?

Hi Charles,

This series (those posted and before) are really nice - great attention to the subtleties make it work! It might be nice to see a retrospective of a these? Going from a full streetwall to the corner element shown above? Sorry, I don't mean to overstep any boundary with a request! I enjoy seeing your work - always excellent!

If not, then looking forward to your next build!

Cheers

Hi nick. sorry for the late reply. Now that idea is really not bad at all. I should have thought of that, by combing the two. I like that. Oh well. Too late for that now. I appreciate the advice/tip/comment on these dios. You are definitely not stepping on any toes, at least not mine.

I love getting great input like yours, especially when coming from dioramas Extraordinšr like yourself. Thank you buddy.
