Imgur test.

Tom

Seems to work no problem, just have to try and figure out how to get the image right on the post.
Very easy to use and NO popup ads.

Seems PB have suddenly clamped down on 3rd party hosting and you now have to pay a stupid amount of $ to allow your images to be hosted for use on forums etc.

Pricing: The cost of a PLUS account varies according to how much storage you need! Please note, all subscriptions are billed annually.
2 GB - Free
Ad Free (no additional storage or bandwidth) - $2.49 / Month
50 GB - $59.99 / Year
100 GB - $99.99 / Year
500 GB - $399.99 / Year
When you upgrade to PLUS:
Premium Support. You have direct access to our tech support team. Email our PLUS Support Team
Storage. You get more space for your media.
Bandwidth: Bandwidth is a measure of the resources needed to display your media outside of Photobucket (example: images linked to your blog).
Plus 50 offers 50GB of Storage and No Linking or 3rd Party Hosting
Plus 100 offers 100GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and No 3rd Party Hosting
Plus 500 offers 500GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and Unlimited 3rd Party Hosting

Plus500 is really the only option now. It's basically a 'legal' version of ransomware that PB are using. All those images posted on here and countless other sites cannot be viewed now unless you pay up.

Hi Jerry,

Having the same problems as well.

PB has gone the new industrial way now and is holding our images to ransom.

Have years of linked images with this company and it may be time to move on and try and alternate provider who does not hammer your account with useless pop up adds.

When will these people get in thier minds that no one ever looks at the pop up add.The first thing we do is look for the close box on the add

Share them how, Jerry?

I think it works... Photobucket

Photobucket will not let me post pics from my library. The function there that used to work,no longer does.

Jerry. Did you go over your size quota? You're posted pictures might be over your limit or even too much bandwidth used. Its possible something changed in your album or library settings. Might have made it private or password protected.

When you sign into PB, and select an image. Do you get this menu?

As posted above, PB are not allowing 3rd party hosting of images unless you pay a reiduculous amount of money. All of the images anyone has previously used to display on a forum have been suspended by PB who now request a payment to upgrade to their PB500 service. Only then can images be used elsewhere. I would imagine this is where your issue lies....

I just added a bunch of photos to my account on PB and then linked to them. I had no issues. When I add a new image to PB I right click on it. I choose open link in new tab. When that window opens, I highlight the address of the image and paste that into my blog. Using that technique I was able to make it work.

Just did a test and PB seems to be working for me — for now anyway. However, the ads have reached a whole new level of stupid! ... Click on the tiny x 😤 click on another tiny x 😖 ... crap, there's another one! 😡 ... gotcha! ... I think? ... Now what was I doing? 🤔

I've been using computers since 1988 — both Mac and PC. My experience has been: No matter what advances are made to technology, there will always be more and more of these annoying advertisements and very expensive hardware/software upgrades to hold back productivity!

Ivan,
I get that, and you computer guys have always had my respect. I for one, have always been an advocate for having only legally obtained software on any computer. During my career in publishing (Production Dept.), I would constantly warn our Production, Editorial, and Advertising staff about the repercussions our company could face for having pirated software on their computers.

Though I can no longer afford Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and a slew of other programs which I was so familiar with, I make due with the bare minimum. And as frustrating as that gets, my Mac is still clean.

I guess what I was really getting at, is the blinking ads. Just minutes ago (as a test), I opened Photobucket on my iPhone and also my computer — I was immediately bombarded with full screen (layered) ads. I know, advertisers need to make a living too, but it was so bad that it was nearly impossible to open Jerry's image link. The ads are just waaaaay out of hand!

Respectfully,
—mike

I've never had an issue, unless the PB site was down. I always use
the "direct link" with {img} tags and remove the "~original" from the URL.

Also I never use the HTML option and I lock the libraries I want to keep private.

this is exactly how it used to work for me. i just clicked on the link i wanted and it turned yellow and said copied. recently it wouldn't work anymore and it took me a day and a half to figure it out. i now have to right click and highlight it in blue and right click copy then go to aeroscale and right click paste in between the (img) tags and it works. it pisses me off that they change things without letting you know plus the adds are getting crazy.
what's this imgur and is it free? what's the web site?

Hey Mike. No offense taken. It was somewhat "tongue in cheek". I might make my living as a computer guy or IT Professional, and subtlety push new hardware and software to my clients, but as a consumer, it's a different story. I feel as annoyed as you with the "in your face" ads.

I'm currently using 1.1 GB OF 10.0 GB (11%) of my free storage plan (2144 images). So I was curious and looked up the Photobucket ad free payment plan options (see below).

"Choose the plan that’s right for you and enjoy the premium member benefits."
• Plus 50 offers 50GB of Storage and No Linking or 3rd Party Hosting (60.0 GB Storage, $5.99/MO, $59.99/year)
• Plus 100 offers 100GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and No 3rd Party Hosting (110.0 GB Storage, $9.99/MO, $99.99/year)
• Plus 500 offers 500GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and 3rd Party Hosting* (510.0 GB Storage, $39.99/MO, $399.99/year)
• Ad free browsing

The math just doesn't make any sense — unless you're Photobucket or you have a gazillion images and unlimited funds. ... Looks like the forums are going to experience a lot of severed links as Armorama users exodus to other image hosting sites.

Words cannot express how distressing this whole issue is for me. The Armorama community has been a big part of my life for years now, good or bad ( mostly good by a wide margin ) so I am wondering what will happen next for me.
It seems every time I work out a method to get around my disabilities, something new pops up to negate that. Oh well, adapt and overcome. But life does seem to always get bleaker. What is the saying? One step forward, two steps back ?

I gave up on Photo Bucket years ago.
They gave or sold my E mail address to every tom, dick and harry that they could find.
I was getting E mails from every thing to make your Boobs bigger to make your schlong longer.
I don't need this krap.
I store my Pics. that I post here on Micrasofts Cloud.
Regards.
