For some reason I can’t separate anyone I know from their hair-drier for a week (because optimum flying conditions are rare & unpredictable) to get the 2nd prop spinning...I don’t know what that says about Aussie coiffure. So unless someone suffers catastrophic sudden-onset alopecia, let’s schedule P/shop for 2-plane photos when I’ve taken them.

As to my pet peeves I was referring to strafing run special movie affects in general. Was not thinking of the somewhat special case on these twin wing mounted canons. Of course in the case of the Stuka they probably fired in unison. It might have even been "one trigger pull = one shot each" to better conserve the limited ammo.

From the few G2 gun-camera clips I’ve seen, yes it looks like one or two pairs of simultaneous shots were enough per target, - coming in from behind at a shallow angle any vehicle was a sitting duck. Rudel claimed 800 plus a bunch of ships (!) & boats (mostly in the G2) probably an exaggeration but who knows by how much? He also claimed or admitted to have been shot down or force-landed 30 times & he only lost half a leg.

Pity nobody makes a Henschel Hs 129 B3 tank-buster kit these days with the 75mm fully automatic canon in its centreline-pod...one mean machine.

Mike - I’ve sent you provisional/final 1st sequence shots for opinion/P-shopping - Rudel lost all patience with the horizontal wind-sock today...

The spinning prop on your G2 really looks the biz ! Awesome work dude.
The masters I made for the HS129 tank buster in 1/32 scale or now purchased and being cast and sold by Greymatterfigures in England. I made the 30mm and the 75mm version and they are both sold including the wonderful Shatton made brass barrels.

This is awesome to say the least! I just went back thru the pages and can only admire your dedication with all the details.
I actually have been gathering bits and kits here and there for a multi-scale diorama depicting an Academy 1/72 Ju87-G on the East front, except viewed from behind Ger troops in 1/16, over T-34/85s in 1/100. I can only humbly aspire to this level of creation.
Fascinating to read thru and you bring wild imagination and mad skills dude!

Hey Mike, yeah I’ve no way of calibrating the rpm other than the hairdrier was on max boost @ 10 cms. It occurred to me that flicking it up to max heat might be a cunning way of bending the blades for a crash-landing dio...

Hi Dave thanks you’re too kind, there’s nothing quite like publically setting oneself a challenge and hey you just did too! No going back now, it’s liberating to mix’n’match scales in 2D dios & I really like the sound of yours, far more extreme than mine - go for it, all we have to fear is Fear itself & the sky falling on our heads. I’d imagine you could use a big-ass styro block or two – 120x80x10 cms.

I would say it's a fair review. Resin kits are always going to be harder than plastic shake n bake kits and are,in fact,modeling projects as opposed to a Tamiya "assembly project".
I sold them the masters for the 75mm version as well so I would think it is also available ?
Speaking as someone that used to love (and still do) the challenge of building vac-u-form kits and scratchbuilding the entire cockpit,landing gear,etc etc I don't view resin kits as all that hard to build,but that's just me ! LoL

GMF don’t make accessibility to their products particularly easy but I dug up an email address (in the Return-Products section of their semi-functional website!) so will await response to my enquiry. I couldn’t find a B3 from them anywhere on the net, either as a product or a finished model so not looking too hopeful.

Each to their own re resin - my own experience has tended to be more negative than positive. Maybe I was conned but wasn’t resin marketed as making superior detail possible over plastic? The (admittedly few) resin items I’ve bought over the years generally didn’t live up to that promise, or not enough to justify the extra dollars and I didn’t particularly enjoy building with them either. OK OK lurkers no need to respond, I’m sure there are hundreds of brilliant resin kits out there, many items are only available in resin, & you love ‘em. What I just expressed was a personal opinion based on experience to date, that’s all. And I’m willing to set it aside if I can get hold of this kit at a hoho resin-able price– Jerry mastered it so that’s half my concerns erased already.

Meanwhile for anyone interested in where this project’s at now – there’ll be about 5 sequences of around 5 photos each when this becomes a Photo-Feature (with the blessing of the Editors), Sequence 1 is in the can pending the post-production team’s sign-off, Sequence 2 is er shooting while a couple of tech issues are being wrangled. Ominously a squadron of 50+ rainbow lorikeets including fledglings performed some awesome aerobatics right over my house this morning...

For reasons yet to be understood “Melania” failed to fire, but “Ivana” hit just high of the bullseye (the spark is some propellant-residue knocked out of the back of the shell on impact), ricocheting off to lower left...



That was at 15” range, its velocity suggesting it should be accurate to 24” which brings the rig into range for slinging under the big bird for its attack run. All I have to do is set all that up and then hope the hair-drier doesn’t turn the projectiles back on their maker – Mike K, pls don’t stop developing those contingencies.

Some days it’s hard to keep up the motivation with all this adverse meteorology – so in English, one must agitate one’s hind-quarters...

Anyhow while I’m here, waiting (waiting waiting) for calm conditions I tried out an idea today that woke me up one night recently - I think it might have some...wait for it...traction, although still need to work out if/how it will work in the main convoy dio given the number of vehicles...
