Well, this is my Trumpeter KV-2 complete with thrown track. The only modification I made was using individual tracks from Master Club, adding a small chain for the pistol port plug and scratchbuilt the open lid on the left side tool/storage box. This is my first Armorama campaign, but certainly not my last. Besides the Armorama web team who keeps this site up and running, I also want to thank my AMPS Chapter mates who encouraged me along the way and those here on Armorama who were encouraging on this campaign.

Awesome finish to your Kv-2 project, Chuck. The extra work detailing the build takes it to that next higher level of craftsmanship. The thrown track, pistol port chain, and open storage box are eye catching details. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Bill

Great builds all around! Sorry that I kinda disappeared off the radar for a few months with my T-64BV. I lost inspiration for a while and turned to other builds, work got nasty, etc. etc. - you guys know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I finished my beast this week.

Okay, I started the campaign with the idea of building Trumpeter's Kanonenwagen und Flakwagen railcar, but the Flak 38 was mostly PE and really needing soldering to stay together. I have never done any soldering so have been trying to practice but was not going to get it finished in time...

...so I switched to Trumpeter's Dicker Max kit.









Build is OOB with minimal weathering as I don't weather a lot anymore unless I have a diorama/base in mind. That also allows me to add more later once I decide the setting.

And the finished project:













Paints are Tamiya, with various AK and Vallejo weathering pigments.

Excellent build, makes me want to pull my kit out and get started. Great interior.

Thank you. I am probably going to replace the tracks later as the kit ones had a lot of flash, which is hard to trim off that vinyl. I also admit to some slight scratchwork; I accidentally cut off the tabs that attach the handlebar-looking thing over the gun and had to cut some PE scraps into new attachments. Some of the sprue points to the pieces are a bit thick and hard to tell if they are sprue or part of the piece.

I can't finish the kit now.
Could you extend the deadline to Aug 12th?

Between 1938 and 1944, more towards the latter. I can't find an exact date; just that the simplified truck-style wood frame was implemented later in the production and production ceased in 1944. So, maybe 1943?
