Hi!
Here's the sequel to my project. The main part of the gun carriage is assembled and the first layer of paint is applied (Tamiya XF63). I encountered a problem with the support plate and required processing. But the kit is old-fashioned.
Good luck to everyone in the campaign.

Kalin, great progress on the Mörser 18 - it's really taking shape!

And Mr. K, I'm really looking forward to your ZiL-131 with the Grad (I'm a big fan of Soviet/Russian rockets on trucks).

I made a (slow) start on my T-64 a week or so ago, once I get a reasonable amount done, I'll post some progress pics.

Have fun building, everybody, and Happy Holidays,

Jerry

Kalin,

Looking mighty fine. That frame really looks great, can't believe all of the detail packed on it. You are going a fine job with it.

Update on the Soviet KV-8S tank. Trumpeter 01572

The assembly is completed.

This is my first Trumpeter tank build. I must say this was one of the best and enjoyable builds I have done so far. I even had a easy time of it assembling the track links and fitting them around the wheels. Didn't have to swear once.

Painting will take place after Holidays. I plan on using Mission Models Russian Green. This will be the first time using this paint. If anyone has any tips on how to apply the paint they would be most appreciated.

I'm in either with the E-10 (#00385) or a LAV-25 (#00349).

Hello Mark!
Very good! I like!
I expect to see him in color.I wonder how you will paint the chassis and hull on the inside.

Mark, your Kv-8S build looks terrific. Curious to see the painting phase.
Happy modeling. Bill

Update on Marder I.

Suspension subassemblies went together easily. The bogey trucks have a fair amount of detail.

There was some construction issues with the bogey attachment to the lower hull tub.

As stated earlier in the thread, there is a major issue with the kit tracks.
Assembly continues with the hull interior. I will be adding some additional details, and maybe a driver. Having fun. Bill

Man oh man, missed the start of this one. Thankfully not by much, got to pull the LAV Recovery variant out of the stash tomorrow and get cracking. For anybody doing an LAV, Black Dog's engine compartment is out, I just scored one on EvilBay.

Nice builds guys, Kalin, that is a ton of detail on that carriage, nice result for all that work. Mark those KV kits are really great, they put the fun back into modeling, not a lot of extra details to add, and they go together really well. Looking forward to the paint. William, thanks for posting that problem with the tracks, I'll have to watch out for that, probably will go with aftermarket myself when the time comes.

Mark, excellent looking KV, that's a nice clean build. Trumpeter's KVs are very enjoyable kits.

William, sorry to hear that your Marder has been a bit of a pain, but if you're still having fun, that's what's important. I hope the rest of the hull and the superstructure aren't so much of a struggle.

Happy Holidays, everybody!

Hello guys!
Happy Holidays to all!
This is the development of my project.

And something else.
The Marder I model was the first one I made from the Trumpetter. I expect to see him in development.

And this is the second part of my project.

All my guns are with their tugs. I consider them as one whole.

Kalin, Awesome job. When put together, it sure is one big, beautiful gun. The artillery halftrack is a perfect compliment to the Morser. Happy modeling. Bill

Update on the Marder I.

The kit comes with some interior detailing. Using references from the Web, I started adding missing details.

Added fire wall hatch/door, filter/hose, and a new drive shaft. Towards the front, I added the transmission extension, planetary discs, and a radio.

I also cobbled together a driver figure made from the spares box. I still need to add some conduit and a fire extinguisher on the right hand side. Having a blast on this project. Bill

I was going to build the KV-5 for this campaign, but seeing that there are quite a few WW2 AFV's I decided to go with the M1135 NBCRV Stryker. This kits been in my stash for several years now, and its about time to knock it out. I have acquired several resin upgrade sets for the kit over the time its been collecting dust so this should be a pretty solid build. Incidentally, this will be my first modern build. Everything up to this point has been between the WW2/Early Cold War period.

I didn't realize how little a Marder I vehicle is until now.
The interior is looking mighty nice.

That sure is a lot of storage for that Stryker to paint, but it sure will look sweet once finished. Are you going to attach them before painting the vehicle or after? If after, how are you going to attach them? I may want to use your method.

I am starting my participation with the AT-S:

It will tow the Soviet 100 mm Air Defense Gun KS-19M2-another kit by Trumpeter, that I will receive soon.

Mark, I will likely paint most of the stowage separately from the vehicle. Ive used this method in the past and it worked out well, I just affix them after the base coats are painted so they receive the same weathering as the rest of the vehicle. This is a lot more stowage than I would normally place on a vehicle though so we will see how it works out.
