I rarely have cause to complain as I am fortunate/lucky with my purchases. But I feel justified in giving a heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing resin figures from Jeff Shiu.
I recently purchased two of his 120mm figures and his email response to questions prior to and during purchase was fine. Figures arrived a week later and one of them was missing at least 6 parts - making the figure unbuildable. I emailed him and explained the situation even outlining the missing parts from photos on his website. He responded with a request for the parts I had received - I did this promptly.
Then Mr Shiu disappeared. No response to any emails so eventually reported the situation to Paypal. They asked me to return figure to him (insured, tracked and signed for) and this was done (at my expense). He refused to answer any emails from Paypal or to accept delivery of the item I had returned when it arrived in Hong Kong. Following the investigation Paypal found in my favour and refunded me.
Today, some 3 weeks later I get a simple one line email from Mr Shiu:

"Hey thief and lier, you should shame! my figure not for suitable for modeler like you! now you should know why I didn't gave you reply!"

Not sure how Mr Shiu figures me a thief and a liar when everything was returned to him?
One manufacturer I will not be usig in the future.

Sorry to hear about your experiences Paul. I recently bought 2 of his figures at the big MMI show in Chicago. Semi fortunately, all the parts were there. The box art photos showed both figures with weapon slings. Well, those weren't included. Going to the website and looking at the parts breakdown they just aren't cast/included. So I'll just have to scratch them. Why put them on the box art if you don't get them? BAD, BAD, BAD !
The guy is a REAL talent. No denying that. Sounds like a jerk though.
Have a good weekend !

I have bought about 40 figures from Jeff once or twice he has sent me a kit that the rifles not casted right. He sent me new ones within the week. As for the straps, I normally look at the parts on website to know what I am getting. Straps are one of those things I normally find you don't get in the kit.

I think Paypal nearly always supports the buyer as they don't want to lose your bussiness. Doesn't really have anything to do with who is wrong or right.
That is why I don't sell stuff. I have had many honest people I know sell stuff and when they send it registered and it's signed for, PayPal still sides with the buyer. I am sure if it was PayPals money it would be a different story!!

Always had great service from Jeff!!!

I have bought nearly 10 figures from Jeff, and never had a problem with him.
One day a hand was missing from a kit. Jeff send me the missing part for free after I ask him by mail. This is my experience with him and why I could recommend him and his stunning products.

I have also always had great experience with him, apologies when he hasnt replied immediately, sending short answers when he is away.
He even let me know he was fulfilling an order with a few parts missing and that he would forward them seperately, and that was only a week later.

Just a very satisfied and grateful customer

Not discounting your experience but I've bought over a dozen of his figures and have never had any issues whatsoever. That said none of my figures had any missing parts either.

I am happy to report that the matter has been resolved between Jeff and myself - a simple misunderstanding but all sorted now

I've never had a problem with his figures. He responds promptly. I also had a piece missing but he sent it right away. I've collected about 4 of his sculptures. They do need some sanding , putty work but it's minimal.
Not sure what to believe , I'd like to hear his side of the story. lol
