I made several thin washes with acrylic paints to break the uniformity of the base color and then drybrushing the pigment for variety. Rocks are painted with different colors also. I used thinned oil paint for the slime on the river bed.

Proceeding with more vegetation, I sprayed the grass with Vallejo Olive green for more fresh look. Other plants are from JS Work.
There will be water lilies and bulrush, but after pouring the resin

I decided to glue the dam with superglue, just in case, and applied lquid mask at the edges.
First checking with water for any leaks and to measure the needed resin.
Th resin dried nicely, but...bubbles. It appeared that, because of the hot weather, the resin started to dry very fast and the bubbles had not have enough time to get to the surface and disappear. But it is looking very nice that way
Final putty and sanding is needed on the sides of the base, and I will continue with the water ripples and other vegetation:

I had envisioned not as much water and figure standing in the water. Double curious to see how it turns out now. You doing a video for this as well?

Water is not as much as it seems-only about 2cm at the deepest.

I like how the sand at waters' edge is moist. Looking really good!🍺
Can be awesome when it works, but I've heard nightmare stories about models being submersed in water effects with disastrous results. I'm convinced you'll make this guy look badass no matter where he stands.

Mike, the moisture is because the resin creeps along the edges, it even got between some of the grass. It's nice effect though
Problem will occur, if the resin reacts with the material of the figure. And when it's curing the resin produces heat, I don't know if this is dangerous for the figure.
If someone tried putting resin figure in epoxy resin water, please share the experience.
