Hi guys.

This isn't directly armour-related, but I've got a few very nice Dragon Panzerfaust 60s and was wanting to use them in a diorama together with Michael Witmann's Villers Bocage Tiger 1.

I've done a little research however and it seems that the panzerfaust 60 was introduced in 'early' 1944 and reached full production in September 1944.

Can anybody please confirm if the panzerfaust 60 saw use in combat in Normandy , particularly June 1944? Even if someone can point me in the right direction as to where I can look.

Thanks!

They were in use there. I do remember reading a comment from an officer that fought on both fronts and he said they were never issued in sufficient quantities in Normandy, which was a perfect place to use them. While on the Eastern front, with wide open spaces, they had boatloads of them.
Later on,they were more readily available in the West as well.

Thank you Jerry. I really appreciate that info. Apparently the panzerfaust 60 reached full production of 400 000 per month by September 1944 so it makes sense that they were in short supply in June that year.

Being very familiar with the Normandy bocage countryside, i can definitely see how beneficial the 60m range of the newer panzerfaust would have been.

Thanks again for your help!
