Interesting Camo Marko. That will make this build stand out. Nicely done.

Angel, still not enough superlatives in the Dictionary to describe your work...

Angel - WOW! - great paint job on the compressor and those gauges on the control panel! I though at first I was looking at a photo of the real thing!

Kudos!

Peter,thanks!

Thanks also Mike!
I'm not quite happy with the way I did the bezels-too much CA and then hard to paint.
I tried a different approach on the oxygen-water chiller gauge and it proved much better.I simply covered the brass bezel with solder, glued the dial underneath it, used the bezel as template to cut the dial to shape and then glued the "subassembly" to the painted chiller. It came out very clean and neat.

I'm working on the truck now and hope to be able to show some progress soon,

Thanks for your comments. As my model is not built from the scratch, as Angel did his (congrats!), it is a extensive conversion. The model is finished, with a figure added. In a couple of days i will post the pics of finished model. best regards,
Marko

Marko,
I'm looking forward to the pics of your finished entry!
Don't forget to upload some to the Campaing Gallery.

I did some modifications to the load bed of ZiL-157 truck and some PE work.
Because its sides were hinged at the edges of the loading platform, the load bed of 8G33U was wider than the one of the standard ZiL-157.Once opened, these sides laid flush with load bed's bottom, thus giving to compressor crew additional platform space for operation and access.
Here is my take on that bed:

All components-including canvas frame-are test fitted and will be fixed once primed and painted.

I decided to use AM wheels on the ZiL-157.
Ordered some, but received a set that is basically lacking 2 tires...
And while I wait for the missing tires to be delivered, I restarted the SKP-9MV project.

Finished the interior(not much visible despite the big "green house" on the roof).
Started detailing the box sides.
This is where am I now:

Wish you all a lot of health and wealth in the New Year!

Some really really impressive builds in this campaign.
My build is not up to those standards, but it will still look good when finished.

The base color is on. Next some details will be corrected and then more painting.

Looking good already, Jesper!

I finished the ZiL-130 based SKP.
Uploaded the pictures to the Resin II Campaign thread(the truck is a resin kit that participates in the above mentioned campaign).

I also finished working on my ZiL-157 based Mobile Compressor Station 8G33U:

There are 9 weeks till the end of this Campaign, so I might come up with another scratchbuild, will see

Hi Angel, uhh, yeah, you seem to be slipping a bit....uh, you’re missing three Phillips head screws on the lower left side....really too bad....hahaha!! The build is another Angel classic! Looks great!

And Marko, wow - nice build!

Cheers

Okay. Time I put scalpel to plastic for the build. I wanted to do something a little different - not so grandiose as the large, awe inspiring work here, but something still quite detailed and needing a little skill. I decided on doing 1/35th scale Arriflex 35 Motion picture camera and equipment.

The Arriflex was the first of its kind, with the basic camera components manufactured from 1937 and well into the 60's. It was the used by the Germans for front line filming, etc, due to being hand held and also tripod capable. One of the finest camera's ever made and used for filming actual Motion Pictures by Stanley Kubrick, George Lucas and many others....

Okay, emough of that. The pics of where I am at so far (tried to show as much as the detail as I could):

The camera itself is nearing completion, a few (teeny) tiny details left for that. The carriage case it comes in, complete with internal supports and fittings to keep it snug. The front shroud section of the camera is actually removed for storage - it fits in the top right corner. Still a few details to go here too.

Next up will be the portable battery/charging pack (the 'handle' sticking down from the camera is actually the motor and power source) and a box with spare film magazines. A few more hours work for sure.

Angel, I could not se in the rules where this would be excluded, but if it is not what you expected here, let me know, Cheers to anyone still reviewing the thread!.

That is a nice surprise,Peter!
Both bold(man, how do you see what you build?) and superbly built!

For me your modelling subject is a legitimate entry, so go ahead and do the super-duper detailing!

Thanks Guys

Mike, that second pic is a pearler. Thank you, it is just what I needed for some clear pics of the full tripod. I have pics of the mount and the upper part of the legs, but the lower part has been hard to find so clear.

The first pic is a great reference for paint chipping on the food transport cannister! I have a Tamiya 'Gulashkannon' in the stash...

Angel, many years ago I picked up a Superlux magnifying lamp at a garage sale. It has a magnifying glass centre and a cast iron base so I can position wherever I like. It has been my best modelling tool ever since. It is keeping the hands steady enough to position the tiny parts that is the hard part!

Thought you might need that tripod - go for it!

Very delicate build in 1/35th but easy enough with a bit of Evergreen.

Looks like there might also be different sized battery packs.

Similar but slightly different tripod. They are shooting handheld with the Airflex but the other camera is, I believe, Russian so the tripod is probably Russian as well. Also I am guessing that massive tripod head is some sort of fluid head for doing smooth pans and tilts. Note the electric drive on the Russian camera - never saw that before.

Diorama idea: - for a Kriegsberiehter exhibit.

Please note what I am guessing to be a wooden tripod case strapped to the fender of this Horch.

I purchased this original photo right out of Mr. Ihing's photo album at the big Louisville Military "Show of Shows". I guess the seller had other ideas as the image must have been scanned beforehand. I saw this image recently appear in a military model publication - smart guy!.

Hi Mike

You could be right, but I think the second photo is showing the battery pack outside the carry case with shoulder strap the soldier is using in the first one. The film magazines came in 2 different sizes at the time, later an even larger one was made.

Often numerous photos were printed off the same negative. Photos passed on to each person in the photo and then home to loved ones. I saw on another website where someone had bought a ex German veterans personal album and there were duplicates in it.

Then of course there are the people that buy them, scan them and have a copy made, then sell the original again to recover outlay. That is what makes me laugh when you see someone in the movies paying to get blackmail photos and negatives..... they take the Blackmailer's word there are no copies... yeah, right.

Well still very happy to have an original with captions written on the back as well as the soldier's name and date.
