The UE is looking good Rob. I'm building the Tamiya one at the moment and the tracks on that can be a bit fiddly too.

Bill, the work you are doing is really showing what can be done with some TLC on a basic kit. It looks like it will be well worth the effort.

Hello everyone,

I have started working on my entry for this group build. This is my kit, the Trumpeter SA-2 Guideline Missile on Transport Trailer

I also bought a couple of photoetched sets for both the truck and trailer.

Here is a group photo before I started working on it.

And here's a photo of the iPad showing the Campaign thread as timestamp.

After working for about an hour and a half, I almost completed the engine.

Thanks,

Joseph

I just applied the decals I got from B2nhvi a while back (Thanks Timothy, BTW). I'm gonna put some more clear-coat on tomorrow then maybe some Tamiya panel accent color; but that's it as far as weathering. It's a parade vehicle so it stays nice and clean.

Zon, Peter, Mike, and Rob...thanks for the words of encouragement.

Joseph, the SA-2 & transporter kit is a good choice for the campaign.
Richard, the decals look good on the digital paintwork.

Keep up the good work everyone. Bill

Update on my BM-8-24.

I added a driver figure from a Zvezda Tank crew set. I also added a faux interior by drawing up an interior detail.

As can be seen, a rivet production line was done to the upper hull. The carpet monster devoured the driver's hatch. I made a new one out of styrene. Other surface details were added(bullet splash plates and pistol port plugs).

I also made new brackets for the headlights.

That's it for now. Thanks for viewing. Bill

Getting close to being done with this one! Gotta put in the seats, windshield and rag-top. Since it's a parade vehicle I'm not going to do much in the way of weathering.

I may not be online much tomorrow so Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Looking good, Richard!

Bill, Very imaginative solution on the interior. Should look great, without have to scratch and entire interior.

Bill: Looks awesome. Great idea for the interior, and well done.

Richard: I can see that driving through Tiananmen Square now.

Keep up the good work! I need to get back on track.

Happy Modeling,

Thanks Zon!

I was able to get it finished earlier today. Like I said, it's a parade vehicle so I didn't do any real weathering.

Here are the pictures I've submitted to the campaign gallery.

I may do a another one just for giggles later. I've got the Revell-Germany MAN 5T Mil GL truck I'm doing in the Logistics campaign and either the M9 ACE or the M1 ABV for Once More Unto the Breach, the combat engineer campaign.

I also just bought the Trumpy SA-4 Ganef kit from Squadron a couple hours ago!

William (panzerman1),
It's a surprise thing with the scene of the interior.

Happy New Year to all.

Aloha and Happy New Year!
Some progress on the Sturmtiger. Applied all of the Zimmerit decals except for the glacis plate, which requires me to cement the upper and lower halves, as the decal overlaps the top of the lower hull. Otherwise, I've installed the fenders and primed the lower hull so i could complete the tracks. Painting the wheels will be next I think. Sorry for the dark photos.

Happy Modeling,
Zon

Nice little duo Richard. The grey roof is a real contrast to the digital camo!

Coming along nicely Zon. Interested to see how the decal zim holds up to painting and weathering.

Richard and Pete: Thanks for the kind words. Pete, I'm also curious as to how they hold up. I've already added a bit of CA to some of the smaller edges that didn't seem to lay down all the way.

Happy Modeling,

Update on my BM-8-24.

After doing some research, I rebuilt the traverse and elevation mechanisms. Also rebuilt the travel lock.

I also added rocket ignition wires to the launcher.

Added upper hull details. These include headlights, driver's hatch, and relocated the exhaust pipe.

Rear hull details added. These include tow hook, step fender, and access ports.

Last hull detail added. This was the commander's cupola. The tank tools are the last items to be added.

That's it for now. Thanks for viewing.
