Hello Jerry

Once again you're showing your eye for detail and capturing the human side of things.
The figures have the natural look, and the guy mopping his brow looks knackered and hot.

The hand prints...

Looking forward to more...

Cheers

Jerry, How 'bout I just ditto what Sean says, very inspiring work Sir! (Thank you Sean).
Always a great pleasure to follow these comprehensive builds of yours. Maybe a reach but it's like you bring the whole community together man, and that's cool.

Cheers

Hey Mike

Sean and Dave,
Thanks so much for the remarks and all. I have kind of neglected this thread and have to apologize for letting my response s go for such a long while. Not like me at all. I always pride myself by dignifying every written response with the answer I think it deserves. Sorry Gents.
The consensus seems to be the hand prints work so...Nice! Thanks, and Dave thanks for the specially nice remark about being the glue. That is although not true, one of the nicest things ever written here about me.
Sorry to disappoint,no updates or pics !

Nope nowhere near enough! I think I speak for all when I say we want much, much more…but it looks terrific. (Have you had Cheyenne clambering over those roofs too?)

Nope, sorry,no Cheyenne over here lately. The roof tiles will soon be available from a guy that was kind enough to send me some to use. They are paper and will only cost about $20 for a thousand !

Could be could be but he doesn't look that thrilled so I am guessing not.
I needed a guy in shirtsleeves and suspenders in a certain pose so I have to make my own as usual. Started with a Dragon fig from the Arnhem set and used arms from the Kursk set. Shaved off all that was not needed and added the Hornet head I wanted. Now time to slap on putty. I find this method is faster than the armature method many use.

With the shaving done

Nice start on the morphing process Jerry , could you sbs this so I can follow along . I'm going to need all the help I can get . Seems there are next to NO decent Aussie figs around . My best bet at this point would be to use British N Africa dudes as my base guys .

Glad to oblige. There is a guy on FB right now doing a very cool medic jeep conversion with Aussies in control, bush hats and all.

This latest project of yours is coming along great Jerry, nice painting on the bldg. walls. I'd like to follow the SBS on your figure morphing as well.

Haven't been on here for a lil while, but this has all the makings of a classic. Really interested in the Waffen camo technique and paint call out you've used.

Would you consider the Silvestri books essential, worth the investment?

Cheers

OK Cheyenne and Dave, here ya go. Dave I wouldn't consider it indispensable but it is very very useful. You can get free images all over the internet if you don't want to make the large investment.

First layer of putty added for the upper trousers, armpit gaps and the hair.

Suspenders made from lead foil and wire taken from the inside of TV cable(very nice and thin) and buttons from my AM PE set.

light coat of primer to help keep me honest. A few touch ups with putty and he will get paint slapped on him.

I also scribed in some seam details on the trousers, etc. Is this what you guys needed?

Slapped paint on the suspender guy. Began work on the 2 guys discussing where the recovered vehicle can be found.
