I bought the VP super value 75mm Sherman ammo set and noticed there are short and long rounds

I'm guessing the short rds are 75mm & long rds are 76mm

It looks like the brass is the same length and the projectiles are varying lengths. So all would be 75mm, just different types of projectiles.

The early M72 AP round is short and quite blunt. The later M61 APHECBC is longer and far more pointed. The M48 HE round is also quite long and pointed.

These rounds were also manufactured in Canada and the UK and marked differently from US rounds.

Be leery of the marking information on those diagrams. For example, the upper box is coded R1RIC and labeled for M61 APC-T, but the code prefix M61 rounds was R1LN or R1LI_. The lower box is coded R1RID which would indicate M61A1 APC-T rounds but the box is labeled for M48 HE rounds that would have one of many different prefix codes. In both cases the box markings would be yellow, not white.
