Thanks, gents for your support but as for now model scouts green fields of Valhalla, all shiny and coarse...
I have used GX super clear III with levelling thinner, airbrushed. I used this varnish for the first time. Obviously, it was not a case of temperature around zero... Btw I would feel very sorry for the rest of the World if in Singapore we would have this temperatures range... The problem was humidity. When I left the painted model in the evening it looked more or less ok, but by a morning something wrong happened. My local fellow modellers gave me advice not to airbrush after sunset. As I checked this yesterday, humidity increases then quickly by about 20-30% reaching 70-80%. Well, mistakes teach us something for a lifetime.

Some PE work from the last few days. I don't know how visible is it, but that is all for now.

Howdy Y'all
Damian-Sorry to hear your model is off to Valhalla. I enjoyed watching your build.
Martin-Great job so far! I've built that kit so I know your making a silk purse from a sow's ear.
This is my build, Dragon's Elephant Kit No. 7253 in Italian Front scheme. I tried building Kit No. 7201 years ago and will finish it for the Unfinished Builds campaign.

The kit for the Italian Campaign is on the right hand side.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Gaz,
Sometimes modeling is good therapy. You are right about the spelling, it should be "Elefant". I realized this after I looked at one of my German published references.
Our model club is having a Dragon Kit contest later this year. I plan on doing a Ferdinand for the Eastern Front Campaign and then I will have an entry for the model club I'll call "Ferdinand and Elephants", grouping the 3 models together. I doubt a 1/72 scale kit could win the Gold but perhaps a group of 3 closely related kits could get a Silver.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

HI Don,
Good luck on your contest! I know in our local show, 1/72 armosr isn't judged with the larger scale stuff... so you can get gold in any category.

Nice work Martin, Don. I must admit i got carried away building my kit. It was good fun, and i just kept building, thinking ill take pictures next evening. Well, only minor parts are left to attach now, major build is mostly complete.

Still got some decisions to make. As i plan to build this vehicle:
More pictures of it exists, including color one. First, it has some "one of the kind" spare track holders on the front. I havent seen such one any other marder, or i dont remember seeing them there are some more minor additions here and there. Next, cammo scheme seems to be airbrushed, but touched up later on with lighter tone dunkelgelb (which looks like light gray in color picture). Or it might be same tone, but as its brushed, plus applied later it gives such result. Thats going to be funkiest paint job i have done so far.

Sounds like a bad case of Builder-itis.

We have all been afflicted at one time or the other. Unfortunately there is no known cure. You just have to ride it out

Pretty much

Originally they produced a limited run series of kits based on Dragon kits just adding extra or special parts to make limited run vehicles - the SDKfz 234/1 with the alternate 'small turret', adding sprues for stadgas to other vehicle kits etc. They were/are referred to as 'White Label" kits.

Now they basically re-release older Dragon kits (some ex Gunze, etc) as 'Orange Label' kits with a few new bits and bobs thrown in to hook the punter - "new magic tracks" or 'DS tracks' to replace older style, add a figure kit, etc.

Recently built both StuG B and PzIII G that were both Cyberhobby. But before that, I think they were miniart or something. Definitely not Dragon's best molds but still ice kits.

Hi everybody. The Wespe, slowly but surely, is coming along. Base dunkelgelb with preshading is down. I will add the green stripes after I complete the fighting compartment. The superstructure walls and howitzer are not glued in yet just posed for the pic. Having a bit of trouble with my airbrush (might just be me). Anyway, love the builds you all have going. Strong work.
