On this EUROSATORY report:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxKiEI9Gu6Q

you can see from the 5.00 minute mark a model of a new WAPC called Serval. If this will be the new French Camouflage pattern, then I quit building Franch armour.

Looks like a trial for urban warfare camo. I never heard of it before.
The French army are testing another camo looking like the Finnish or Swedish splinter pattern. The colors are close to the ones on the video though. There will be a desert pattern as well.

I wonder if they've got inspired by an Ikea coffee table...

Is this the one you're talking about Olivier (on a side note, the pictured Leclerc demonstrator is fitted with a 140 mm gun ) ? :

So not using a NATO 3 color scheme anymore for these? Another indicator of NATO (and EU) fading away? Yikes!

There has never been a NATO camouflage scheme. NATO nations are too different to adopt a single camouflage scheme.

If France accepts that, then I'll bet some other armies of the world will try copying it for their own vehicles.

I don't understand the newspaper camo. Is it a joke? Is it some kind of winter camo?
Cant imagine its better or cheaper than washable paint.

The new camo that is under test (green on earth tone) uses new special paint quality and avoid the black colour too much detected. It will be better than NATO three tones and sand/chocolate brown for externals operations. It seems
The colours could be use too in Europe but the tests were done in East Africa and UAE .

It really does look like old newspapers glued to the side. The perfect camo for driving around a landfill, or a paper recycling plant.

So I'm still confused. Yes, I'm getting tired of the same old camo patterns and I like new ideas. But is this a thing? I know I suffer from believing everything I read on the web is real.
Yes. Vigina. There is a Santa Claus.
But is this a thing and what problem does it solve?

I guess the newspapers "camo" was used during an urban warfare exercise by the crew who didn't have anything else at hand.

Concerning the camo displayed during Eurosatory, it is part of an overall project which started nearly two years ago and still is on going. No decision has been made so far unless maybe to abandon the black patches.
