Die Qual der Wahl:

I suspect I'll be doing the Tamiya T-72 for the campaign, but I'm going to glue this dog together first to practice getting the colour right

I think it gives a vague approximation of a T72, or at least I can't confuse it for a Leopard....

Am amazed a the variety and the quality of the builds.....

Mine has finally gotten to the point where it is starting to actually resemble a tank.... at least in parts....

Would have been further along, but I spent way to much time trying to make one of the safety chains for the crew hatches....

The entire chain is just a touch over 15mm long. Definitely not the best, but the best I can manage. I am not going to do the other two chains, at least not by scratching them.

Later, Bob

Some progress on the T-54. Overall, excellent fit and very fun to build. I almost completely ignored the sequence for the hull buildup. The main lower hull interior painting is mostly done. Still need to clean up and paint all the main gun rounds, various green ammo boxes, and the tank/compressor assembly that sits on the left side of the lower hull. I'll have some small detail painting to do after that, then finish it up with some washes and minor weathering.

Michael -

Another great Campaign start and as mentioned, the quality being shown is really outstanding. I've been consumed with home remodeling project and other priorities so my modeling time has been very limited. I haven't had a good Campaign involvement since your "Six Day War 50th" Campaign. Time to get modeling again, and Holidays should provide the relaxed time to do so. I'm planning on a Tamiya M60A3 to a Magach 6 to start and hope to add a Tamiya M48A3 'Vietnam' later.

Happy Holidays to all.

Good work on your tanks so far, mates.

Here is my progress. The build is nearly done, only some parts left to attach. Then start painting.

Just enlisted. Still need to post my start pictures. Entering with a 35th scale Takom T-54B Late.

Haven't put together a kit in about 6 years, so need to get back into practice with everything modeling, pictures and posting again. Like what I see here and it looks like a good place for me to start building again. The campaigns time length is ideal as are the number of participants that can provide good feedback and help.

Looking forward to sharing this experience and having fun with all of you!

Wow. Just how much etch is it possible to put on one tank? I thought I was doing well with a couple of mudguards and a machine gun mount.

Photo-etch aftermarket manufactures always manage to place more items on the sheets that really aren’t usable in my opinion. I pick and choose only what makes scale sense to me. The remaining items are stored in the spares box for other projects if ever needed.

I'm with Eddy. pick and choose as a lot of it does not really need replacing or PE is not the best substitute anyway - PE rivets... the devil's work.

I don't like too much PE parts only essential one.
On the other side there are manfacturers likt Tamiya which should include basic PE parts.

Workable track links are time consuming.

Hello guys!
About a month after my start in the campaign, my model work progress is at this stage. I'm disappointed with the distribution of the details in the box. Everything is very scattered.
Here are photos of the progress.

Good luck to all.

Update on the Centurion. Build mostly completed although some details to be added and the exhaust systems not glued in place, but base coat has been done and about to give it a coat of Tamiya clear so I can add decals and start weathering

Good looking Centurion.

Meanwhile managed to spend few hours on Abrams:

This is my first RFM kit, and so far I have positive impression. Only troublesome part was engine exhaust: there's an arrow that points to a joint that would have 1 mm gap if assembled unmodified. I think it needs to be as it's shown in the picture (no gap). Took few minutes with a file to fix the issue once I figured out that the exhaust would be too wide.

In my opionion Abrams is probably best looking tank. Clean lines, raised engine deck, perfect fit between hull and turret, sleek frontal armor etc. Too bad the boxy stowage boxes spoil the looks.

The current status: hull basic assembled with running gear. Next is to make the tracks. Will take a while but once done, fun starts with the PE details all over the hull and the turret.

Meanwhile small vignette for T 64 has been completed.
