@petbat – Peter,

Now that’s one plush ride. That Red Light District interior sure looks comfortable! And the license plate ending digits of 666 makes this a devilish machine indeed. Very nice job

Not two but three weeks to go to get projects done before this campaign ends, that is amazing good news to me and others here I’m sure! Thanks a bunch Peter!

On a side note that should give Jesper, enough time to fatten up that air crew with plenty of junk food and high calorie drinks, let’s not forget some over buttered popcorn too!

Finished my B-25. Beautiful little kit. Not a lot of details, but the nostalgia does not get better and overall it looks like a B-25. 🙂
I am on for another matchbox campaign.

Comments welcome

@SGTJKJ – Jesper,

That looks really good. I haven’t built a B-25 since I can’t remember when , but the one I built was the Revell 1:48 Tokyo raider. Seeing yours completed in green sure brings back memories. Good job on the weathering and for fattening up the crew to keep the nose wheel down. Yours looks a ton better than the one I built back then.

And a great job it is Jesper. You have done the old girl proud, it looks fantastic.

I half expected the grape dot camo somewhere on her though...

I'm still quietly working away. Just on the little jobs like undercarriage, antenna etc.
Hopefully will have some paint on her over the next couple of days.

Got the Tunnan painted, glossed and prepped for decals over the weekend. Would have taken some but they weren't turning out very well. Too much sun glare everywhere I tried.
It's hardly my best painting effort, but it will do.

Hoping to get the markings on tomorrow. I just hope 30+ year old decals are going to work!

@petbat – Peter,

It’s not going to happen; it’s just not going to happen before the deadline. Even with the extension, and I’m grateful for that as I’m sure others in the campaign are, things just haven’t gone where I would have liked. Just couldn’t manage time to do any modeling on my end. With the exception of posting a few comments here on the forums I haven’t touched my model. My build is stalled where I last posted here with the exception of adding the headlights and transmission plates that tie all three of those pieces together.

I did purchase the paints and a few other items that I needed for the bridge, but that’s where I stopped. I had already started on another campaign before joining up here, that due to being so behind on that build, and now it has happened again! I’m not one to quit so easily and I’m going to continue with this build. I’m thinking of moving this one over to the ‘Unfinished Business 2019’ campaign just to finish what I started. I’m hoping to see another Matchbox build campaign in the future where I could build another one of these very satisfying kits and show there what I had started here. Sorry I’m dropping out of this one and best of luck to the rest of you Matchbox builders. Here’s hoping for another Matchbox campaign?

Tease?

Started adding the decals just after and very pleased, and surprised, that they're working perfectly! Yay Matchbox!

Interior of the 251 is fantastic Marek! Amazing work at such a small scale.

Decals are now on and finished result on the Tunnan. Really impressed with how well they worked, especially the roundels on the fuselage in conforming to some quite complex curves. Only needed a little microsol and set.

The decals really pop out on the metal finish. You did a great job applying them and getting them down on the curves.

My first plastics where most likely only Matchbox models so i really want to get into this campaign but with only a half finished Meteor in the stash i could not start. Not to worry i go to the local Dutch eBay and find me a steal, o was i wrong. You can't find any here, sellers all think they have struck lucky when the cleaned out grand dad's garage,...

Anyway still without any for this campaign i traveled last year to plastic heaven Japan, entering in a dark alley a second hand shop i never would have guessed to find some old English heritage,.. not one, no several i found in the reduced price bin,.. so for a couple of hundred yen i choose the one that i made also 40 or so years a go

I loved the Lysander, it's a beautiful aircraft

design from 1973

A few little interior updates

small outside alterations

Now the decals,.. 70's decals,...

im actually pleased with the result and much more with the fact i made the deadline (extension)

An i forgot to mention the navigator canopy is home made,..

Great stuff Jan. Nice little detailing, especially the slats. It does make the model a little different to all the others. I built this one when I was younger and loved it too. I always wanted to buy the large scale one Matchbox did too...

That hobby shop, was it Leonardo's at Akihabara, Tokyo?

http://tokyo-hobby-shops.geraet040.net/#leonardoLG

I spent quite some cash there myself a few years ago

And finished. Photos have already been added to the campaign gallery.
Saab J-29F Tunnan, finished in the markings of 2nd Jagdbomerstaffel, Austrian Air Force 1963.

Really enjoyed building this one and seeing everyone else's builds. With a little work these old kits can still be built into fantastic models.

Thanks for hosting Peter.

Sweet finish Stephen. Worth waiting for. I really have to find one for myself now I have seen it complete.

Well that is it people, 'pencils down, hands away! as my old teacher used to say'

I'll give it a little time for the 'end of the international dateline' followers in case some slide home, then allocate some ribbons!!

Thanks to everyone that participated, whether you finished or not, and also to those that contributed though not building. It was a fun build - great to see some less serious builds for a change - and the work you have all done was great.

Until next time, take care.

PS. If you are interested I have posed 2 new builds for next year:
'20/20 in 2020' and 'Bundeswehr'

Hope to catch up with you there, if it peaks your interest.

Thanks Peter. I'd recommend it, it's not a bad little kit. It does need quite a bit of weight in the nose though. I packed in as much as I could and it still tips back when touched!

I'm thinking of getting Hobbyboss's 1/48 and finishing it in the Congo cammouflage. Might look good.
